  1. That is correct but I also spend about 2-3 hours a day trying to keep this forum spam free along with the rest of the mods and we also do this on a volunteer basis so it is a bit frustrating when I feel I that someone is just wasting my time. Which is greatly appreciated. The frustration is understood. It might be better to try your best, which you have, and then simply ignore the poster(s) that refuse to listen, as opposed to getting snarky. It will really make you feel much better I think, in addition to only wasting some of your time, instead of drudging up old posts and , even though being 'right', still beating a dead horse that he/she obviously wont listen to.
  2. Waterbear, why not just simply ignore this poster rather than continually interject and condescend to a poster that isnt taking your advice? You may be in the right that you gave good advice, and they ignored it. Rather than come across the way you are, just simply ignore it and walk away. not sure any good can come of your current appraoch. It lessens you and makes you seem cranky.
  3. So, you assume someone has an ulterior motive if they post on multiple forums trying to get answers?
  4. Have you seen both in person? Made by the same company, but I really disliked the look and layout of the coyotes. Not saying they are bad, just I didnt like them as much as the arctic. Also, the tundra is a really big tub. If its just for you and a ladyfirend, I might suggest looking at the arctic fox. Its a '3-4' person tub, but realistically its 2 to 3, tops. Could be had for significantly less than the tundra. Also, the Cub is smaller than the Tundra, but not a 2-3 person spa.. Good luck to you!
  5. A coworker showed this to me on tuesday, knowing I was having mine craned in on Wednesday. Thankfully, all went well, but a huge picture window came within about 3 inches of taking one for the team.
  6. Just took delivery on our Cameo yesterday. Crane and then sliding it around to the back deck...DICEY. Had an inch and a half to spare on making a turn. Electrician did not leave as much wire as I had instructed, so the hookup was close...3 inches less and we would have had an issue. Everything was a chore, but it allw orked out. Filled it up, with water from a mountain spring fed supply...41 degrees! Suddenly, the jets kicked on when all but the highest jets were covered and sprayed us all with icy water. Funny stuff. Congrats on your purchase!
  7. I just recently bought a Sundance Cameo ( basically the optima with a lounger) and I would say that, in my opinion, there is room to negotiate on your 11,400 quote. Solid tub.
  8. And what you arent understanding is that opening the spa, and filling it with unsanitary carbon based lifeforms means it most certainly isnt a closed system. So, what happens when you go to the beach, lake or pool? Other than the pool with it's unhealthy level of chlorine, there is no protection. So you are at far greater risk than entering my hot tub. You can't live totally isolated from the world. In fact, the pursuit of absolute sanitary conditions makes one more subject to infection because your body does not produce the necessary antibodies to fight infections. Well at the beach and a lake, Im not sitting int he same 400 gallons of 104 degree ater that me, my family, my neighbors, my neighbors kids have all sweat in, pissed in, **** in ( in micro amounts, but true), ejaculated in, sneezed in, spliied beer in, etc FOR 5 YEARS! At the beach or lake, its trillions and trillions ( beach) and millions and millions ( lake) of water thats not at optimal bactera breeding temp that circulates around and doesnt sit in the same 400 gallon cesspoll that your hot tub is. Is it sanitary? No. is it probabally cleaner/less risky ( and just downright gross) than your hot tub? I wouldnt get in yours to test it out. I dont get into a lake or the ocean expecting reasonably clean water, nor do I do so often ( less than once a year). Do I expect ultra sanitized and sterile water ina hot tub, hardly, but I do expect you to at least give it some effort.
  9. And what you arent understanding is that opening the spa, and filling it with unsanitary carbon based lifeforms means it most certainly isnt a closed system.
  10. Im not all about super duper ridgid chemical regimen, but your scenario sounds disgusting.
  11. Excellent point on the storm windows. Very true. As for Itchy and Scratchy, dont sweat it. If you want his contributions, you can easily see what he would have regurgitated by following Nitro's decontamination steps and the step by step bromine stickies in the chemistry forumn. Dont you love the dramatics?!
  12. So, you use no sanitizer, and havent changed the water in 5 years?
  13. Best of luck to you. Hopefully, it wont be an expensive ( Money, not time) lesson.
  14. Fair enough. I just was trying to prevent this from turning into a ' Master is the devil " thread, when , sorry to the original poster, it seems like a case of impulse buying and not doing homework, and then not reading what you are signing and being stuck with a purchase you dont feel great about.
