  1. My husband is the one who keeps the pool sparkling blue and I know nothing about pools. Of course this happens when he's out of town. It rained heavily this week which started to turn our inground cement pool green. I went out today putting in 2 bags of shock and when I tried to turn the pump on... nothing happened. Yikes, now I have a green pool shocked without a pump. Checked the breaker box and the fuse was tripped. It won't reset for more then a few seconds. Immediately, I enlisted my kids to stir the water by brushing the pool while I called our local pool place. They can't come for 5 days. How can I keep the pool from getting worse? Will it help to keep brushing the pool or is this a waste of time? Is there any other chemical I should add? Any temporary fixes? Please help. Coming home to a green pool is one thing, but no one wants to come home to a swamp
