My Marquis Epic (2011 I think) has been giving off random OHH errors for the past few months. Very random times maybe every 3-4 days. It also happened during my last water change. I filled it, water couldn't been more than 80 degrees and the tub would say it was 107. It eventually corrected itself and went down, but this is very random. My flow seems fine, water coming out of the jets as they normally do even on low speed. Temps here are in the mid 70s (northeast) so i don't think its due to the weather. My dealer originally said to change the filters (even though I just changed them last year). This did not help as I got an OHH today. The dealer is going to be quick to recommend a board replacement at a crooked number most likely. Looking online here I know this spa heater has two temperature probes. Could it be possible that replacing the heater with the probes replaced may solve the issue as this issue is very random? One other data point, the hot tub did give me a HOT error a few weeks ago and this happened. My GFI box outside started beeping and when I reset the GFI and the hot tub powered on the HOT error came on. I couldn't figure out how to fix it. Eventually after doing extensive research online I saw that putting the A1 dip switch to the on position and then powering on the hot tub fixes that (in case anybody else needs to know how to do this). After the hot tub turned on and error cleared I put the switch back to off and power cycled again. I think even though the breaker tripped the hot tub wasn't happy and displayed the HOT error. Funny the dealer actually couldn't tell me what the HOT error was for and immediately said any HOT error needs a board changed (likely not true). TIA

When do they stop shipping 2009 models to the dealers... when is the cutoff to when the dealers can no longer order 2009 models?

So I bought a 2008 Marquis Epic last year that I was relatively happy with. I am in the process of selling my house this month, and the hot tub will be staying with the house. This is already agreed upon in the house contract, we won't be moving it. The hot tub probably HELPED us sell the house (and get the price we wanted). We are moving to a rental temporarially but will be purchasing a new house hopefully later this year, and we will be purchasing a hot tub as well. We will consider the Epic again, which is why I wanted to know if there were any major differences between the 2008 and 2009 models. I don't see anything structually, but I wanted to check. When do they release the 2010 models? I am also considering other Hot Tub models/manufacturers so if anyone released a new design I would look into that as well. Thanks in advance.

Hey guys. Thanks for the recommendations. I don't want to spend a fortune, around $50 will do the job. One question though. I read here that somebody was upset that his submergeable pump was scratching the bottom of his hot tub. Is there any way to avoid this? Do any of these pumps recommended scratch the bottom? Thanks.

Probably going to be doing a water change right after Super Bowl. Looking to buy a submergeable pump to drain tub a lot quicker in the frozen winter. Last water change in September took 5 hours to drain Marquis Epic. Thanks in advance.

Ok got my Epic in July. Did my first full water change over the weekend. I want to do a water change in December and I didn't want to wait till then so I figured i'll do one now and one in December. So I think I did an OK job. But please critique my process and let me know if there is anything I should watch out for. - Cut off power to the tub at the breaker - Attached garden hose to the tub drain hose and drained water to street (this took a LONG time since I had no pump - like 5 hours) - Pulled both filters out and put them in the dishwasher, ran rinse cycle for about 5-10 minutes (they didn't stay in there for long but they cleaned very well) - Set up bucket with filter cleaning solution and put both filters just rinsed in there - soaked for 12 hours) - Wiped down empty tub with spa mitts - Put both filters back in dishwasher ran another rinse cycle for 5-10 minutes - Filled tub with new water - Put filters back in tub - Turned on power back to tub - Threw in half a bottle of calcium hardness (I have soft water) - Threw in 8 ounces of the metal cleaner - Ran jets for 1 hr - Changed Spa Frog mineral and Bromine cartridge - Threw in ounce PH Up (since total alk was low) & capfull of Bromine Concentrate - Took tub about 6 hours to reach 102 temperature - Soaked that evening Thoughts? Did I do anything wrong? I don't want to have green water tomorrow. I may have to put more PH Up in but we'll see. Bromine level looked good yesterday.

He probably means some tubs have more "bench seating" where two adults can sit side by side next to each other without anything in between. The Epic has more "definied" seating and some people may like that, some wont. I don't think the Epic has as defined seating as say the Sundance Maxxus. But it's definitely not bench seating.

Seat configuration is one of the things that sold me on the Marquis Epic. I wanted the lounge, but the Epic was the only tub I wet tested that had what I like to call "two primary seats". Sort of like a his and her's as both seats face straight. I can easily get 4 adults into the Epic, and could go as high as six without much of an issue. Epic is $$$$$ though, but if you want a lounge and want to be able to still seat a lot of adults this is a good choice..

Yes since I paid extra for the constellation lighting we use it. My wife loves the lights. Granted we don't use the lighting all of the time. But they are on most of the time.

Ok ill probably change it this weekend then since I want to do a water change in December that would last me through the winter. My wife threw some of the spa defoamer in before I got home yesterday and it seemed to have made a difference. But you are right it probably should be changed. I have two questions, in my Marquis Epic I have the washable two filters. Can I throw these in my dishwasher and just do a rinse cycle (no soap) to get them nice and cleaned? I tried hosing them down a few weeks ago. It looked like it helped get some of the yellow off, but I think dishwasher would be more effective. Also anything else I should be aware of when changing my water? I guess I have to cut the power. Will this water damage my grass? Should I remove my Bromine cartridge a day or two before draining?

Are the suds considered "foam" ??? Is this what you use the anti-foam chemicals for?

Ok I received my Epic on July 8th. I obviously want to do a water change sometime in December before the freezing weather gets here. So should I do a water change now and then do one in December? Should I just wait till December? So far my water chemistry hasn't been that big of a deal. Water is clear. If anything I have had trouble keeping my PH and Total Alkalinity up, but that isn't that difficult to correct. The only other issue is I notice that my water occasionally gets "soapy". Like the bubbles that form in the tub when the jets are on look a little soapy. Any easy way to correct this? What do you guys think?

Also there is no reason to wait for the next bill to find out. I read my meter daily and I log my electrical usage per day. If you log your KWH usage per day, you can project what your next electrical bill will be if you know your KWH rate.
