  1. Toni, My InfinitySun Peak SPA uses a VS Series M7 Control Spa Pak by Balboa with a 501 configuration on the motherboard .................it can handle a 4.0 or 5.5kw heater. My reference was to this setup.......I apologize for making a blanket statement but I believe he will not have a problem as he purchased just shortly after me from the same location..... There is valuable information on Balboa's website..... Jeff
  2. Biz, I replaced my 4.0kw heater with a 5.5kw.... More bad advice by another inept repair.......my tub was purchased in April 2008 from the Texas location with a 4.0kw heater in it....they sent my a 5.5kw heater.....installed myself......works just fine..... Fire your local spa repair tech guy.......replace it yourself....... Jeff
  3. Olivia, Thanks for the reply.........Is Laura brown still at Infinity....she was quite helpful in the past with service problems as well....she was in the Tenn location....... I have owned a Sun Peak since April 2008 with no known problems......have used this spa regularly since buying.... A great deal at a value price....... Sun Peak Owners, I am a DIY'er who is very familiar with this tub.....please PM if you have any questions with the operation or service of this tub.....I will help you out if I can.... Roger, Sandi is a great gal....dont be so sensitive about her comments....... Jeff
  4. SANDI, That was a great line..... "I know it's not where we usually keep it. Try looking for it on the next shelf down behind the orange juice?" Maybe the guy was just inexperienced and hasn't seen the inside of many spas. Maybe he's a dim bulb, I didn't ask Thats just too funny.....
  5. Spatech, That's why I work on them myself.........out of the gate .........Not much to a hot tub.......schooling to work on these......does that require a 2 yr or 4 yr degree ???? I know spending a few extra minutes looking for something where it might not be is asking too much from the repair tech.......
  6. Dr. Spa, Hard to miss when it is staring you right in the face....well this is mine anyway..... Sandi's could have been buried in an inch or two of foam but the entire handle was clearly showing.... Case closed on this spa repair guy...... Jeff
  7. Infinity's gate valves are right before the intake side of Pump #1. This was a mis-diagnose by an inept spa repair guy......not looking close enough...plain & simple..... All the more reason I like not buy a full-foam tubs.......if I want foam...I will self insulate myself..... Sandi, I am in agreement with you on this repair job assessment......... Jeff
  8. Hot Water.....I wouldnt waste another word on these guys......your position is well taken......
  9. You would surprised at the # of businesses that use this tactic..... "Collect cash as quick as possible & string out the vendors as long as possible" All about cash flow....... No doubt, Costco will address this problem..... They will not want a bunch of recent purchasers of Infinity spas to suddenly start returning them because Infinity decides to string out vendors.
  10. Glad hear you are back in business....... Keep the heater tube for a backup...you just have to replace the element inside for 39.95 from Spa Depot.....get the coated element or the titanium coated one for top of the line...... Now you can tub in the middle of winter knowing you have backup heater that you can install in a 1/2 hr or so if needed.......without having to wait on a spa repair guy or Infinity jerking you around..... Ok....that is now $ 3,000 + 39.95 = a far cry short of $7k to $12k...... Oops..shouldnt have said that......Yes, I remember.......this is a vaue spa...... Just having a little fun here......where is everyone's sense of humor......LOL Roger, I will be here hopefully.....I will keep you posted on the successes or failures with this spa. Hopefully, us "value spa" owners can educate you & others on the reliability of these spas. We already know what happened with Hydrospa & Keys Backyard......Who knows about Infinity.... But we will keep everyone posted.... Jeff
  11. Hot Water - absolutely agree 100% with all your posts here on this thread...... I went down this same road with each one of these guys when I purchased my even cheaper Infinity Sun Peak for $3k from Costco......I am very satified with my purchase at this point....but like these guys say: You & I are DIY'er & these tubs may very well work out for you & I...........time will tell........ Hillbilly, Spatech & Roger, as biased as they are, do offer constructive help with problematic spas.... But they really are opinionated about "low end big box store spas..... Sorry everyone, could not help but read every post on this thread......... Interesting how the conversation digresses from the original first post....... Jeff
  12. and your electrician calls himself an "licensed electrician"....I wouldn't pay him a dime..... Glad you found what the problem was.......
  13. I will still gamble on the inconvience on this type of service from big box stores & cookie cutter manufacturers as opposed the readiness of service techs & immediate parts availability from dealer spa stores.... It is all in the price you pay......everyone makes their choice........ $3k or less vs.....$7k to 12k....a worthy gamble if you ask me.......but then I am a first time spa buyer .....so what do I know........time will tell....... Not here to start another long debate.....
  14. I knew Laura would get it done for you....it just took Costco to light a fire........ Laura is good...I am not sure why she never responded to you..... But sounds like you will have it tomorrow... Good luck... Keep us updated.....
