  1. sjo, When we first started looking at tubs, we were interested in a Dynasty Caspian 55, our dealer also sells Arctic. We were taken in by the looks of the Dynasty. Our dealer ordered one in for us to wet tests, no obligation, and when it finally arrived, we jumped in. We were sort of dissapointed in the jets, looked pretty though, and hubby didn't fit under the molded neck jets. So, then we jumped in a Klondiker (we don't want a lounger) just for shitz and giggles, and the difference in the jet feel was amazing!! I personally want an Arctic, hubby still can't find anything he is quite comfy in, but regardless, go with what your body and checkbook feel is right. Good luck and wet test, that will be the proof you'll need!
  2. My first hot tub experience was in my mom's VIking 1 (big old round tub) that had about 12 jets, but hey, it was fun!! But hey, if your dealer is unwilling and/or unable to fill a tub that you are going to spend some fat cash on--check out another dealer. Wet testing is one of the most imprtant things in buying a spa==secondly dealer relationship/service. IMHO, I liked our old tub, and We looked at the Legacy 2 and Heritage as well, but we never did wet test, we liked the price and the bling at that time, but it wasn't comfy for my tall hubby in a dry run. Plus the salesman was wacky and I had questions about the dealership. Wet test yur arss off, and whatever fits you and your budget should be OK!!
  3. sjeanine-- We wet tested a long-awaited Caspian 55, and despite the nice appearance and loads of bling, we were disappointed in the therapy. My hubby is almost 6'3" and couldn't fit under the neck jets. And, we both were floating out of seats and jets didn't quite hit us right. We then jumped in the Arctic Klondiker at the same dealer and WOW what therapy!! We are now waiting for a TUndra to become available to wet test. Shame your Jacuzzi dealer wasn't available, the 470 is a nice tub and the 2 large spinner jets under the waterfall seat are AWESOME and will turn your low back into putty!! Have fun wet testing, I have a tall hubby and know what you are going through!! T-N-C
  4. So, OHH = Oh Hell it's HOT!!
  5. BTW, JD AND BUDGE-- Tom has been helpful to me in my questions from another forum. He is the KING of Arctic Knowledge!!
  6. They're both good, but Peak has a higher output and is a beefier system. Onzen has an ozone output close to the Peak system and adds the saline and silver ion sanitation. JD-- COngrats on your new oversized hot water heater!!! I, like your wife, was getting impatient about waiting to wet test a Tundra. My hubby is 6' 2 1/2" tall and we are waiting for our dealer to get a TUndra in to wet test. I am patient now, remembering that if I haven't bought it, I'm not paying for it!! Budge--wish you well with your dealer. I have a great dealer here in PA, but at this point, I have done so much research, I could probably school them on the tubs!!! I'll post when we decide/buy. T-N-C
  7. Ask for a full refund as you have decided to go with a different brand that will only take a couple weeks. This may shift him into a different gear. Or you can go get a different tub. I agree with Roger. See what happens when you ask for a full refund! Bet he'll be backpedaling!! Aside from that, our Arctic dealer also sells Dynasty and Nordic tubs. The advantage, as in our situation, is we wanted a Dynasty, because the bling and looked like nice therapy. We sat in the tub they ordered for us and then sat in the Arctic Klondiker, and the difference was WOW!!! Ther was no comparison. As far as the Onzen, it incorporates Ozone with a salt water sanitation system, and thus, you have all of the benefits you are looking for in one system. I would see that it is credited, though. Shame on the dealer, he has your cash, and should have been prepared. Especially since you kept up on your end and let him know how your landscaping was going. Good luck. T-n-C
  8. Hello Ace, welcome to the forum, and good luck on your spa search. Every Arctic Spa for 2008 comes standard with waterfalls. The Northern Lights would be an upgrade, but they all come standard with two blue LED lights. The Sumitt and Yukon are two great tubs, and the Yukon was revamped for 2008 and it is quickly becoming one our our more popular spas. The Onzen system uses the Arctic Ozone system along with a salt generator system all in one. It is a very good system and has been very popular since it came out earlier in the year. I would say that if you were to choose between the Arctic Ozone and the Onzen that the Onzen would be the better system. Hope this answers your questions. Waterboy Thanks for responding so quickly. our friends have a 2006 Yukon model and we saw the new 2008 model at the dealer and we were impressed with the new design. We also looked at the Tundra and it is a great tub but feel it would be too big for 2 adults and a 6 yr old. I should of asked earlier what is the HP on the pumps and are they 56 frame. I was told that they pump over 200 gallons a minute?? I have been browsing as a guest for over a month and found this forum very helpful and finally decided to join. thanks again! Ace, If I may add, I have a Hydropool dealer in my area, but I haven't seen their tubs in a few years. My personal fave, after wet testing quite a few, are the Arctic series, preferably Legend/LE or LSE--lots more of the add-ons and more pumps. The onzen system also uses UV light (from what I have read) in addition to the salt water and ozone. Correct me if I am wrong. I am personally awaiting the arrival and wet test of a Tundra LE Have fun. You can't imagine the power of these jets==and I believe the pumps are 5 hp. T-N-C T-N-C Thanks for the info, much appreciated. I will be checking out the dealer this weekend as they have some special Arctic anniversary promotions for 2 days and will arrange to wet test as suggested I was correct about the UV light. Onzen is a more advanced ozone system combining both corona discharge and UV light. Onzen also integrates halogen salt sanitation, with a long-lasting titanium electrode. To top it off, Onzen is designed to offer silver ion sanitation as well. This triple-threat approach offers excellent sanitation, and we add a digital meter for easy readings. I copied this from a message from Tom from Arctic. I plan on getting one (since I personally want TUndra, once we wet test, we will know.) Hope that helps.
  9. Doc, kinda what I thought, since I have seen his ramblings on this forum and have heard of his works on another forum.
  10. Great Job, Doc!! I think most everyone would like to know who it is.
  11. Thanks. I will visit you before deciding our purchase. We did decide to go with a 4-5 person spa like the Sundance Chelsea, but are by no means set and determined to go with a Sundance. My wife and I will see you in the next 3 or 4 weeks. Bryan www.TucsonComputerRepairs.com My thoughts are, if you are able, but I doubt it, is look at Arctic spas. There a small spas in their line, and they have a "chiller" which will actually cool the water for you in your hot AZ weather!! Artesian spas are sweet, too! You are lucky to have a dealer near you to see and wet test (it is a must to wet test) and have many nice spas to pick from. Good luck to you and wet test and post!!

  13. Sandi, wow that is scary!! I have just come back onto this site from another forum, since that one is currently full of spitfire and animosity, but after reading a few posts on this forum, seems to be on here too. Boy, for your sake, I hope your personal information is not able to be accessed, this person sounds like a wacko and needs a restraining order. Keep forewarning us all. Thanks. T-N-C
  14. Thanks for your quick response, waterboy. BTW--I had seen your pix from your profile--NICE!! The Calypso would be a nice tub also. I like the therapy seat in the Endeavor. I am a nurse and am looking for a total body experience. That is why we looked at Clearwater to begin with. And, My husband is tall-- almost 6'3 and about 240 # (or 190 cm and 109 kg for you Canadians!!) and he wants to sit in a seat that he can relax and rest his head back and not have it banging on the shell. we like the fact that that tub is deep. He is long legged, too and wants to stretch. But, no lounger--we don't want one. I assume your $12,000 estimate is US dollars?? Thanks again!!!!!
  15. Hello, All!!! T-n-C here!! Just when I was thinking we had things narrowed down, my hubby, T, foudn the posting about the Pacific Calypso, and of course, he checked it out!! Awesome website!! So, now that we have read the thread about Jerincan and waterboy buying Pacifics, I was wondering if anyone knows what the Endeavor would cost with lights/stereo/system 3 purification...Looks like a beautiful and well made spa. Are there any other experiences?? I am also on another forum--what's the best hot tub, and most people on that forum are very focused on some of the big name spas---Hot SPrings, Caldera, Arctic (which, BTW, we like as well), Jacuzzi, (also looking at a Jacuzzi 470 this weekend), and an occassional Sundance or Cal spa lover. We originally were very interested in the CLearwater Spas Orlando model, but had issues with the dealer always making excuses. I see Hillbilly Hot tub is a Clearwater dealer in NH. Anyhoo--just wondering what is out there--and since we are looking to wet test a Jacuzzi this Sunday, and waiting to here from the Arctic/Dynasty dealer about the two tubs we are interested in....just hoping for the epiphany day!!!!!!!!! Thanks--C http://www.clearwaterspas.com/resort-series_orlando_sig.htm http://www.pacificspas.ca/pacificSpa.htm
