  1. Does anyone know if the gfci sub panel for Caldera Makena(paradise series) is interchangeable with any of the other models. The part number listed for that model is #301757. I can't find that panel for less than $450 but I see that part#301755 is available for around $250 they both have the 30 and 20 amp gfci breakers but there are no notes as to whether or not they are interchangeable?
  2. I just got a new to me Calspa tub and I completed the initial cleaning and decontamination but before I fill it for the final time I wanted to remove some of the jets and soak them as they are quite hard to turn. The problem is I cant get them to release. I turn them as far counterclockwise as possible but cant get that extra click to free them up. Is there some sort of tool that could help get some more leverage on them?
  3. Our old tub finally has worn out and I have been looking for a replacement used tub with a lounger . Came across a 2007 Catalina xl2200 but I don't know much about the quality of this brand. Any one that can chime and give me pros cons etc. Thanks
  4. I noticed water under my tub this morning so I opened the panel and see that it is draining from the shaft of the main pump where it goes into the wet end. I hit the button to turn on the pump itself and I just get a humming noise from the pump but if I get the propeller started with a screwdriver it does start working. So my question is do I need both the motor and the wet end or do you think it could just be one or the other?
  5. I just got my Sundance optima filled and running after repairing 3 leaks. So now I want to replace all the foam that I had to tear out to find the leaks. My question is what is the best product to use? Should it be closed cell? open cell? Are the canned products that are available at lowe's and home depot ok to use? I would say I have about a full cubic foot of area to replace.
  6. Well I started ripping out the foam to locate a leak I have in my Sundance Optima but there is so much water it is hard to pin-point it. The most saturated areas were at the lower calf jets but I am thinking that gravity might have a role in that since there are areas that are wet up higher as well. So I was wondering if there was some sort of dye I could use to help in finding the source?
  7. I gues I stumped the panel. 115 views and only 2 replies. Oh well. I shocked it and tested. water is balanced I'm gonna take a dip.
  8. So we lost power from a snow storm on thursday. So it has been four days with no power and the tub only dropped to 85 degrees so I was happy. Now my question is do I need to drain and refill or can I shock or super shock and still use my water? The water itself is only a few weeks old and with 30" of snow it may be a tough proposition. Thanks all
  9. Hey Drewskie. Not sure if this helps but I had a leak on my Sundance optima. When I started digging I came across a check valve that was in the suction line at the bottom of the tub. The check valve was basically cracked in half and that was my leak. I had wet spots all around my tub so I would think if it has been leaking long enough it could be from areas farther then you think. So if you have these suction lines check the valve areas. Thank you. I had read somewhere that check valves go bad and are a common leak spot. How did you get to it? From underneath the tub? Is it difficult is it to replace? I pulled the whole side panel off and saw the wet spot on the pad. So I took a sheetrock saw and cut a 12" square and I could feel the wet foam. So from there I just pulled the foam out by hand until I started hitting some pipes. I came acrossed the check valve and as soon as I pulled away the foam it started gushing. So I had to drain the whole tub. This check valve was in a 1" flex PVC line so I was able to cut out the bad valve and glue in the new one. It wasn't that difficult. The hardest part was just getting started since it was only 20 degrees out!!
  10. Thanks Dave. I do have the foam insulation hence the digging. I was just wondering if there was a special type to use but it seems as if the standard Lowes issue will do!

  12. Thanks guys! So far 24 hrs and not a drop. Water is at the same line it was yesterday. Any one have so input as what type of foam I should use to replace what I took out?
  13. So a few weeks ago I started losing a bit of water. A week or two went by and it became more and more. I read the few posts on Fix a leak and decided to try it. Las week with the luck of a couple of warm days, after I ran the fix a leak through, I drained it let it cure for 3 days then refilled Well 2 days later I was down 3". The leak actually got worse. So now we were in some seriously cold weather and I was filling, heating and losing 2"-3" a day $$$$$. So today I got out the screwgun and took the side panel off and started digging. After removing about a square foot of insulation I fished out the culprit. The check valve for the 2nd pump suction line was cracked in half.I hopped in the car and was off to Lowes and believe it or not I found everything I needed. I got it all glued up ran the heat gun on it to cure it a bit and started the refill. Its now been an hour and no leaks so keeps your fingers crossed for me when I wake up tommorow I hope to see a dry slab!!
  14. Weather permitting shut it off and let it drain down to the leak if your sure it's not in the equipment bay. When it stops loosing water see whats at the water line. Thanks Roger that was my first instinct. My luck it'll go all the way to the foot jets
  15. Well my 2002 optima has sprung some sort of leak. I was loosing only about an inch or so every couple of weeks and now it turned into every 4-5 days. I bought the fix a leak and gave it my best shot. Did two treatments then drained and let it cure for 4 days and just refilled tuesday. Well 2 days now and it looks like I'm down an inch So my question is before I just start digging through the foam at random is there some process that will help it narrow down the problem area? Any of you who have gone through this please chime in. Thanks
