  1. Do you know a good source for parts? Will anything come apart? (Will I have to replace everything including the jets?) I get my parts from www.easyspaparts.com they are local for me.. by the way,, is your spa a Dimension one?
  2. Just a quick note that the spaflex hose does have the ribs when new. They do, but you can not feel them, until 4-5 years later when the ozone shrinks the softer areas in the hose, then you can also see them
  3. I do not know exactly how it works, but the explanation I got from my "master" is that it works kind of how the blood seals a leak when you cut yourself. the liquid starts to seal the leak little by little until it plugs the pin hole, that is why it does not work on big leaks.... it's kinda hard for me to explain, I guess i watch to much Discovery channel..
  4. on your spa, I would recommend fix-a-leak, 1/2" has to be a very small leak and this might solve your problem... good luck!
  5. yes, you would need more hose and couplings to repair it. also you might want to use a low VOC pvc glue,, I recommend the gray glue. it will seal those ribs on that old hose.
  6. yes, it's called fix-a-leak, and it does work if you have a very small leak e.i. 1" per week or so,,, but if the leak is spraying water, it will not stop it.
  7. if this is a 10 year old gfci, I would recommend you to replace it.,, they do go bad with time.. check if it gets hot right after it trips.. good luck.
  8. if you don't want to do it again, just replace the fitting. that pink hose used to be white pvc flex. and used to be smooth not with ribs. it simply shrunk by the efects of the ozone injected in the water,,, you have an ozone right??? anyways, just cut the leaky fitting and glue a new one. good luck!
  9. most likely heater problem, check voltage on the two wires to the heater and verify if it's getting power. also check if you have a manual hi limit switch, it might be popped.
  10. rule of thumb... something blinking, is a problem with flo, or hi limit error. reset your power for a couple a minutes and see if it comes back.
  11. if you do not see an error, (blinking lights, code etc. ) and your heat light is on, you may have a bad heater. also check if you have a mechanical hi limit switch, it migh be popped! to check the heater you may need a multimeter or even an Amp clamp. check voltage to heater, if 120 or 240 VAc depending on the system, then it's providing power, then it might be the heater. if cero amps, defenetly bad heater. good luck.
  12. exactly what ps558 said. you need to test it with a new one, plug it and just drop it in the water, if it keeps reading 104, it might be a board problem, if it reads correct (by testing with a digital thermometer) drain the spa and replace it. good luck.
  13. if you are not having problems with leaks or crack on the shell, just fix it. well, that's my opinion. good luck with your decision.
  14. try disconecting the heater to make sure that is not the problem, if it continues, then disconnect pumps, light, etc. reset and start pluggin one by one. it could also be the ozone if equiped with one. good luck.
  15. I installed a pair of Yamaha 4 year ago and they are still going strong, about $ 120.00, of course Bose and Jbl are a lot better, but you get what you pay for. good luck.
