  1. D1 - Sarena Bay 2008 1. What is a fair price for a replacement Ultra Pure PLUS UV bulb - Light wavelength 180/260 nanometers? 2. What is a fair price for a pair of polyestre filters for the same SPA? Pls. do not ask me to turn to my local dealer, his profit is approx one Ferrari/UV bulb. I can buy it from Salisbury/Zimbabwe or Ulan Bator/Mongolia via Internet, no problem. As long as it is correct parts and to a fair price.
  2. We chosed Sarena Bay 2008 for several reasons. 1. It has two exactly the same seats (no figth for the best seat, means more bath) with a little bit "lying down" positions which we like and six massage programs. 2. SPA markets absolutely best water cleaning system (VERY important at these temps, think of your girl friend/wife, daughter/s and her friends). 3. NeckFlex Jet Pillow. How many couples are of same length? My wife is 22cm shorter than me. 4. Good space for good friends. 5. iWatch give us a warning as soon something is incorrect with the SPA. 6. All jets can be individually adjusted. 7. Very quiet, we have placed it on our balcony/terrace and no neighbour have complained so far. Cost: If used normally, our power cost is approx $1,5/day! Last winter we had down to -19C several days! That gives us a monthly power cost of approx $30-50, which is fully acceptable at our latitude at 60 degrees north. Above that comes the cost for water swap, normal maintenance and chemicals. PS. We did a wet test in a Sarena and another brand of same size. No doubt, Sarena won that test.
  3. Jeremiah, The Lotus Bay would be more comparable with the Hot Springs upper end,or the Caldera Cantabria, not the lower lines.in the D1 line the Nautilus would be the close comparable to Grandee. In the Hotspot Or tiger River would be like our @ Home series... , don't get me wrong the models you chose are very good spas which you know. But the bay series spas from D1 are again upper end of there spectrum...FYI Masanori nice to hear of your choice Bay series is D1´s upper/high end you say? Ooohh.. my God, how bad is their entry level tubs then? Two years ago we ordered our Sarena Bay via England ($15800 with audio in the Chicago area and $37000 w/o audio in our country), ETA was set to 5-7 weeks (payed in full and in advance). It took 22 weeks! The D1 authorized Guernsey dealer (Mr Graham Asshole) ordered our Sarena, kept our money and took off to Portugal, I hope he´s out of business today. We chose the Sarena because of the two identical lay back seats with 6 massage programs (Dynamic Massage Sequencer), the superb water cleaning system (VERY important in these temps) and the warning system iWatch. When it arrive I removed all panels for inspection and what did I found? The pump cabinet was full of mould!!! Worlds best water cleaning system and the tub was full of mould? Well we cleaned and disinfected it and started it up. WONDERFUL! This was paradise. But now, after soon two years of running we can sum up. American tech on top-notch, filters (2 x 75 sq.ft. = 14 m2), daily chlorine, Vision silver catalyst tech, powerful ozonization and on top of that the "patented" UV light bulb (Ultra Pure PLUS). The rest is just pure American **** quality (no wooden parts inside the cabinet or the bottom plate are water proof. Above that, it has a minimum of ventilation), no after market service, no spare parts available (England). Following parts have broke down and are still not yet taken care of by D1. 1. One of three circuits of the Skirt lightning went black last summer. 2. The under water magnetic switches have all (4 pcs.) became rusty and do not work at all (we can´t start pump no. 3). 3. Main panel (M drive) is so full of moisture, that no text appear on the display anymore and no button works (again, we can´t start pump no. 3 and we can´t adjust the water temp or reset after normal maintenance). 4. The hose behind one of the "patented" adjustable Neck Flex Jet Pillow has broken and leaking heavily. I asked it again. Why offer top-notch tech and then use **** components/materials for the rest of the tub? And do American manufactures always give a **** of their customers after sale? Especially outside US? I have worked as a Purchasing Manager for a long time and US manufacturers always act the same way, except for a few (Kirby Cleaning System is an outstanding company on after market service). These word´s will probably ban me for life at D1, but I will never ever recommend D1 to any of my friends. If D1 take care of their customers in the future, I will probably change my mind. If anyone doubt my words, I think I have snap shots of all broken parts. Just give me your e-mail and I serve you. Last words: As long as our Sarena worked, it was our best buy ever! But now it´s just an expensive trouble maker. PS. Sorry for my poor English.
  4. Price samples for D1 Sarena Bay (Jan-Mar. 2008). USA - Chicago area - $15 800 (including sound option) Sweden - Import trough special channels - $30 000 (excluding sound and LCD, but including freight, start pack chemicals, "Vision" silver ion, extra filters and more accessories) Sweden - Dealer standard price - $37 500 (excluding sound and LCD, but including freight, start pack chemicals, "Vision" silver ion, extra filters and more accessories) As you can see, me and my wife could have taken a flight to USA for a long vacation, stayed in hotel and bought a Sarena Bay for EU use from a US dealer and still saved a lot of money.
  5. Hi Jan! Your´e wining about the price difference? Here is what we payed in Sweden in January 2008 (imported through special channels) D1 Sarena Bay (stereo and LCD option excluded) - Approx $30,000.00 Standard price at the Swedish dealer Folkpool AB for this model is approx $37,500.00 (Someone is making money here...) We are waiting for delivery and installation on our new terrace next week.
