have some type of slim / mold / scales in spa. Cant get rid of it, used liquid shock so far, as well as Spaboss Swirl away. Not sure how to get photos on here but took some as well. Drained it 2x already and it keeps coming back any suggestions?

used some chemicals in past but hard to find TSP in NY area. Is there any other type of cleaning for the filters.? want to switch the old ones out but clean them before storing them . Looking for economical way and easy way but doing the job properly. thanks

I am just starting my quest for an in ground pool here in NY . looking at 12x24 in ground pools and prices are not cheap . My question is Hayward filter chlorine based with earth , salt water type filtration or , "frog" mineral system. The place I'm talking to a lot says the "frog" system which is mineral based is the best but I just don't like the looks of the system and read some articles about it not being the best way to keep the pool sanitized. My son has eczema and friends told me the salt type filter maybe the best to no have a flare up . I know there are some great people here who have helped me with hot tub stuff so now looking for some advise on this .. also any pointers on this to ask pool contractors would be helpful . As of know most people priced the pool with filter , hayward 150btu heater, 4x6 or 4x 8 stairs , color led lights , resupporting steps, 2 deep end returns one wall return.... Do the stairs they install come in different types of plastic material ? thanks all in advance ! alan

I know its still under warranty and need to call the dealer BUT just seeing if anyone had this problem and maybe an easy solution before calling the dealer and having them come over. The waterfall light and one pillow light (not constantly on and off) stay on and only blue LED light. If i shut all lights off they light up instantly to blue . If i change the colors with control pad it changes but when shutting off it goes to blue automatically . just inquiring prior to calling dealer . alan

My son (8 yrs old) has eczema previously and has the same exat reaction as you.. The temp for when i know the kids are going in is set for 94 / 95 and he awakes 4 -5 hours (midle of night) with same thing.. I am using Bromine in my tub and test my tub everyday with PH 7.2 , bromine keep at 1.25- 2.25 , TA around 130 , and CA 140-150 .. We went in about one week apart and 3x in a row rash.. He hasnt been in weeks due to the rash and complete redness on his back .. Benedryl helped that but it just easier to keep him out.. Te kids only go in for 10 minutes anyway..

Interesting, I recently changed the filters out and replaced the old ones with brand new ones.... guess i need to wait to see what the dealer states ...

we have conferred with JED (I personally spoke to the engineer) and she said she walked you through a troubleshooting process. We know it was installed properly-it would not have worked for several weeks properly had it not been intalled correctly. I will contact the JED engineers again to see if you are, in fact, supposed to see bubbles all the time. I will let you know. This above message was emailed to me after my video to her.. So Mr. Spoa u think it wasnt properly installed? or there is a further problem with the spa itself ? I have no clue about this stuff from the beginning.. You can see the ozonator working the pump 1 on low as it has 2 speeds. When speed 2 comes on its harder to see but there is bubbles.. I tested water today and when i lfted the cover the ozonator was working and no sooner I turned to get test tubes and if went off ....wierd!!!

Ok have a Jacuzzi J375 tub . Set up and installed on April 15, 2011. The dealer one week later installed a Ozonator (included in price ) and tub was working great. About one week ago Ozonator stopped putting "bubbles into tub" When i spoke to dealer they said the ozonator should have bubbles coming out 24 hours 7 days a week.. Well she had the JED Representatives call me and they started telling me to make sure wires are on right circ pump and technical stuff. When i Told JED employee I didnt install it she said "ok watch it for a week and if not working then call dealer.. I just emailed dealer and she said she will call JED again but reassured me it was installed properly by here company.. Is this ozonator supposedly bubble 24/7 or did i miss something.. Just want to make sure im not crazy..When i put pumps on it blows bubbles and when i shut them it goes off .. It did work properly for a few weeks...

already have that nozzle so im set just need to order the right cleaner that I posted here !!! thanks

Place where i Bought hot tub said I could clean the filter with a part bleach part water in a spray bottle .. First rinse them with hose then spray them with bleach mixture and then wash tehm again and dry them ... Will this method work or disturb my water chemistry ? just wondering .

So i should order 2 more for my spa and rotate them every month or so , depending on usage? My usuage is one or two people 20 minutes each day .. So after one month take them out and what do I clean them with? and what is the process to properly clean them ? thanks in advance

Just wanted to see if I need to change my filters and when.. I am using bromine and just not sure how often to change my filter cartridge or clean it.. Is it only at time of water change (3 to 4 months) ? thanks

nj - agreed , i have been enjoying it now for 2 weeks or so, no more gooey stuff and all is good !!! waterbear was right about no starting with a gameplan , that was 100% my fault as I thought it was going to be a 1-2-3 ease of transition to a spa.. And yes it would have been if i followed the methods here from the start
