I have a 400 gallon hot tub that we sanitize with chlorine and non-chlorine shock (a tablespoon a day each). We have been doing this for 2 or 3 years (the hot tub is 9 years old) and this is the first time I have had this problem. There is a white chalky looking ring just above the water line in the hot tub. I tested the water this morning and everything looks fine except the pH was a little low. What could be causing this?
