mrwrick
Hi, finally got a water system in to be able to fill my old trusty 1993 Hot Springs Classic despite the ongoing California drought. It is set up as a 110V system, so heater and jets work either/or. Pumps work fine, but heater will not heat. I have determined with an Ohm meter that the heater is OK and the temp control thermostat is OK. After reconfirming those components are OK I still ghot no heating. I pulled the control box out and noticed the double pole double throw relay for the heater was not reacting when the thermostat was rotated. No click on the thermostat and no relay contact. The jet pump reacts fine, contacts close when switched on, but not the heater relay. Is there a test for the relay or is what I observed the best test? I also determined that when I moved the control box out I must have pinched the capillary tube for the thermostat, so now I need to replace it also. It was good before I monkeyed the box around without completely disconnecting everything to pull it completely out. Bonehead move on my part, will cost me another $70. Thanks for help, as always.
