  1. What kind of hot tub do you have? Also, are you refilling through the filter or just putting the hose in the hot tub? Many tubs require being filled through the filters to reduce the chance of airlocks. It's a Nahanni. We fill it through the filter. One set of jets works the other gets the air lock error.
  2. Seems like everytime my husband drains the tub to clean it we get an airlock on refil. It's making me crazy. Last time I got a guy to come and take the panel off and release the air lock. I tried to explain to my husband to turn the union conector thingy and he's afraid to break it. So, the spa guy is coming again to do a 2 minute job for me. Is there anything else I can do to prevent this from happening? Is there something easy I can do when it happens? I love my soak. I hate worrying about if my husband is going to break my tub. Help!
  3. Well I have a feeling it wouldn't go well if we tried to diy it. Has anyone bought one of those steel framed intex type pools? Are they better than the inflatable ring ones?
  4. Thanks waterbear. So if I get a "real" above ground do I have to worry about what brand I buy? Installation isn't a diy job right? We looked into one before we decided to sell the old house and installation was as much as the pool itself.
  5. Salt systems ARE chlorine, they just make the chlorine in the pool instead of having to be added. They do simplify pool maintenance but (and I am going to shout here since it needs to be shouted) DO NOT ELIMINATE THE NEED TO TEST AND ADJUST YOUR WATER ON A REGULAR BASIS!. They have their own particular set of problem but do simplify pool maintenance. I am a firm believer in them and have a salt system on my own pool/spa. I noticed that you said you have had Intex pools (inflatable ring pools) in the past. While this company has made a workable, inexpensive SWCG in the past their current units include copper ionization and I would NOT recommend them. Copper is an algaecide but NOT an EPA approved sanitizer and copper is what turns hair green! IMHO, copper should not be used in pools. So if I want to go with a salt water clorinator does that mean I need to get a perminant pool or is there another product for the inflatable pools. My biggest annoyance with the Intex was that I felt the filter didn't keep it clean enough. Does anyone know if the steel sided easy set pools suck? I've read good reviews and bad.
  6. Well, summer's coming and I've been thinking about my pool solutions for this year. We just moved and in previous years we've had on of thos blue 12' round 3 ft deep pools with the inflatable ring. I need something a little bigger but don't have a ton of space in my yard. I don't want to spend alot of money but I can generally count on having 5 or 6 kids swimming in it a day. So, I want something no deeper 4 feet that's easy to set up. I also want to keep it as clean as possible. I kind of felt that the filter on my last pool wasn't quite getting the job done. What does a better job of cleaning traditional chlorine or salt water systems? An oval pool fits my back yard layout but are they as sturdy as the rounds? Also, I now have a large breed puppy that LOVES water. Do I have to worry about her jumping on the walls and ripping them? I thought a great solution would be those super strong snap together sides pools but I keep reading poor reviews on them. Any advice or suggestions for my pool solution would be grately appreciated. Thanks Much.
  7. Okay I removed the filter and turned it on. Still no suction. Now I have an SNS error and a dr error. Any other ideas? I'm worried. It's suppose to go down to freezing tonight. What should I do? I called a service guy but his office told me he's busy and it'll be several days before an appointment. Should I drain it? Is there something else I can try?
  8. Thanks. Some jets are going but not all and the main intake at the filter isn't sucking water down. We had the problem before he opened the service panel. Should I keep trying? Can I wreck anything if we keep turning it on with the error message?
  9. Hi all. I'm hoping someone can help me. We just bought a home with a 2007 Nahanni spa. I've been in it every night since moving day. Yesterday my husband drained it to clean it and followed the directions to refill it. Once filled we restarted it and about 5 minutes after it turned on we got the error code dr (blockage to heater). My husband removed service panal and drained water from all internal hoses he could see in hopes it was just air. It's still not working. Any thoughts on what might be wrong? I'm dying here without my soak. HELP!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks
