Loopcity Posted March 7, 2015 Report Share Posted March 7, 2015 The spa's that you get from Costco are typically lesser quality than what the same manufacturer will sell through spa retailer. The warranty is also significantly less. Additionally, you will get no support from Costco. They do not have an in house service department, or even anyone who can tell you anything about the spa. That being said, you can get a perfectly fine hot tub depending upon your needs, and save a couple of dollars. farwellbooth Posted March 21, 2015 Report Share Posted March 21, 2015 I bought a Divine from Costco as my very first hot tub and ended up returning. I'm in Seattle and live close to the manufacturing facility and thought I could take a little risk. The POS tub had a cracked shell and a hole in one of the jet lines (sharp screw poking into tubing after taking side panel off. I also filled out a bad review on Costco for the tub and it is gone which also pisses me off. Ended up with a Caldera Cantabria for more money and couldn't be happier. Carnut12 Posted March 21, 2015 Report Share Posted March 21, 2015 I am sure every Spa company has units that has issues every so often, to me it is how they react to the issue that matters most. My brother has a Divine, his has been great for 3 years now, not one issue. I am looking at getting one now and my decision is I am going to spend more to go through a local dealer. I am leaning towards Bullfrog right now, part of my reason is I am also looking at getting a pool from them, the other part is I do like the local service and the longer warranty. I have a local hot tub mover that will install costco hot tub from curbside delivery for $675 First time buyer How can I get real unbiased reviews on hot tubs. I have a high-end, two-pump-plus-air-pump Evolution from Costco and have been more than happy. I had a pump replaced under warranty and the service was flawless. I had to call the manufacturer instead of Costco but I couldn't tell the mileage difference over the phone. :-) Ii would do it again. BTW, i accidentally found some spa delivery guys at my local pool supply store and they uncrated and set the spa in place for $50. The initial delivery driver and his helper moved the spa from the end of my 50 foot driveway onto the patio for a $50 tip. The licensed electrician I found pulled a new 100 foot circuit (6 gauge copper stranded), including main panel breaker and new GFCI breaker box, for $700.
