  1. Sounds like a fair price for the tub. I think I would buy a new set of filters. i bought a 02 grandee last november. I only paid 1,000 for it. But it was empty sitting in the driveway. This was my second used tub so I new I could get it running for less than a grand. Mine needed a cover, heater, and new filters. It has been running fine ever since and we love it. Good luck and happpy soaking.
  2. My tub a HS Grandee is out of level about 1 1/2 inches. It doesn't bother me at all. As a matter of fact the few times I have had enough people to overflow the tub it was nice that the water didn't go toward the house.
  3. I assume you are referring to a 1 pound coffee can(of which I cannot find anymore, I use a 13 ounce can). I am just wondering about the difference. One way it is 5 one pound cans. The other it is 9 one pound cans. I have been adding 10 thirteen ounce cans. I opened my pool on Sunday and have backwashed and recoated 2 times. The water was pretty clear when it was opened and was sparkling in 24 hours. Would less DE give a longer or shorter time between backwashes
  4. How much DE do I use for my filter? The bag of De says for my filter size I should use 2.5 pounds. The label on the filter says 4.5 pounds. that is a pretty significant difference. Which one is correct? I have been following the filter directions.
  5. I would not but a tub I could not wet test. I could have got a deal on a floor model but after sittting in the tub found the corner seat to narrow for my shoulders. If the tub is not comfortable it won't be a bargain.
  6. I just got my new cover from Doc at rhtubs. I went for the extreme cover and am very happy. This is the second time I have ordered one online. I can't remember where i ordered the first one from but this one is much better.
  7. Yes the disconnect has to be within sight of.
  8. your thoughts are the only ones that matter. Which tub is more comfortable for you?
  9. Check with your dealer but I think he needs to run 50 amps to the disconnect, after that it splits to a 30 and a 20 amp circuit to the tub. I ran 1" conduit to the disconnect then 3/4" from the disconnect to the tub.
  10. In that case there would not be 220v across the terminals for the heater. All of the safety features prevent 220v from being sent to the terminals of the heater.
  11. If you have 220v across the terminals of your heater and there is no hot water coming out then the heater is bad. If there is 220v present i can think of no other reason the heater is not working.
  12. I was quoted $7800 delivered + tax + cover lifter. The tax is 7 1/4%
  13. Yes I replaced the part last week. The hardest part was installing the loop up high under the skirt. Once I replaced it the pumps stopped surging and the jet pressure was greatly improved. I wet tested the envoy and really didn't like the moto massage, but now that I have used it for over a week I absolutely love the massage it gives.
  14. I don't think hot tubs were mentioned. Just internet shopping in general.
  15. I found a broken T on my tub. It was causing surging when the jets were on. It is located in the upper right side of the equipment compartment. It is black and about 4 inches long. The top of the T and one side have a clear 1 inch tube clamped to it. On the other end of the straight thru piece of the T there is a 3/8 hose with a diphram of some kind attached. That part sits in the end of the T and is held in place by a push in U shaped plastic piece. I need the T and the U shaped plastic piece. Local dealer ID'd the part 'Hartford loop' and in stock.
