  1. It has a stuck relay either on the PC board. If does not use a pc board it could be a stuck air switch.
  2. both pumps will work. Hayward's are new since they started making pressure cleaners. The standard booster pumps from Hayward seems to be a little quieter than Polaris's. I know Polaris also makes a quiet booster pump
  3. Are you getting the Viton orings blue color, for the Feeder or the old standard black ones. If the lid is not black in color anymore replace the lid. I prefer the frog system feeders or Rainbow feeder from Pentair. Like you said or install a generator system.
  4. Take a look at the endless pool. I sold a few Sunbelt Swim Spas. It is a nice unit with standard spa pumps for the spa end and one huge pump for swimming. The swim ports are adjustable to direct flow. It had a standard 5.0 kw spa heater with plastic wood panels. The customer really likes it because it on the deep side for swimming exercising. He built a room around his. Three years ago it was $22,750. plus cost of a concrete pad and electric. Another customer had a D1 swim spa and hated it. It was huge built into the floor of the room with standard heater and 3 pumps. I think it was the dealer she was unhappy with more than the spa, but she lumped them together. I have seen other at show but not filled. There not a big seller here so that is all I know. If you stay with a major manufature you should be OK. Endless Pools are nice also as stated above, but I think the equipment is seperate from the pool.
  5. What kind of info. Maax, Master, Dimension One, Sunbelt all make swim spas
  6. MSRP from Watkins is $11,950 for Aria and $7195.00 for Jetsetter both prices without ACE System. Only includes tub GFCI panel, Cover Look at other makes smaller tubs, They all seem to make them Sundance, Marquis Artic, etc
  7. That is a good price and yes with control panel on top it is a new Hotspring model. What does his 1 year warranty cover? Can you get him to fill and run it for you? for a good cleaning I like Natural Chemisrty's Spa Purge. You do need warm water to use but it is a natural product and in my opinion works really well. Even if there is something wrong with the spa and needs service you are still way under cost of a new one. Only you can make a decsion to buy or not. I say go for it Get the serial #. Have father-in-law's dealer call the factory and see if spa has ever been registered or had warranty service. You may be able to get warranty. All in all, great deal. I say go for it. To kill the germs, you will want to superchlorinate. Spa Purge does not address germs. To kill the germs, you will want to superchlorinate. Spa Purge does not address germs. Your right I was thinking of a spa being used with a sanitizer and being prepped for water change.
  8. For the electric run if it going to 50 feet you may or may not have a problem with undervoltage. That is with the run being far away and using a 15 amp device on it could make the hot tub act if there were something wrong. caused by what is called voltage drop. That is something a electrcian could check out for you. If you have a newer house I would think should be ok. DO NOT USE A EXSTENSION CORD

  10. Don't go crazy and add all the salt at one time. add 3/4 of and let it circulate for at least 24 hours. Look at the reading in the box and get your self a good salt water tester then add more if needed. It is always easier to add more then if get salt level to high
  11. I don't know the answer, But would like to know why you want to develope a new one
  12. yes the bulbs loose there gusto about a year or so. Better ones are corona discharge but they will need service also in about 2 years give or take. They last forever. I am still on the fence wether they do any good or not. The output is low on some, Some companies say you should smell the ozone, some say you do. The life 03. is so short in warm water. I look at them as a option. IMO
  13. That's a tuff one. My knowledge of Aqua Rite systems is there seems to be extra capacity built in to the units. Ones I installed or have checked up on I have yet to see one with dial above 50%. I don't have a definite answer and no notes from the training class about this, they really don't won't to tell people if the 40k unit is rated up that. If you have enough room install the one use it and see how it does and then add another if needed.
  14. I live in eastern PA and a customer bought a Heat Siphon Brand direct from Manufacture and loves it. She sets at 83 and leaves it there all summer. I will tell they will not work at all or well on cool days around 65 degrees. They need the heat of ambient temp to transfer to water. My Jandy/Zodiac reps says he wouldn,t sell them in maryland north. We have others who have them on small pools and they don't complain about them. It if fast heating of pool water look into a Raypack RP2100 series heater. Heat pumps are slow heaters. http://www.heatsiphon.com/ http://www.raypak.com/uploads/6000.20C.pdf http://www.raypak.com/poolframe.htm
  15. My mom's neighbor did just that Put supports across the pool and built a large deck. It was a liner pool and I wouldn't want to know is under that deck ( skunk water etc) My dad on the other hand had is neighbor fill his pool in with dirt. If you really are dead set against not having the pool fill it in. then there is no chance of somebody or something falling in and breaking the decking. It doesn't have to be clean fill just dirt. Try calling local pool companies that build pools and ask what they do with the fill they remove
