  1. wow thanks for your post.. I guess my main and first questions was if I was missing something and was I supposed to be doing something different.. but I guess we are doing what we should be.. glad to know that if it overflows that we are not toast too.. not that I will let it do it.. but good to know anyway.
  2. umm.. well we have done that on several occations, which then had led to not that much rain, then we had to add water from the hose.. I was curious for a more sophisticated solution. Dont get me wrong the backwashing works fine. Maybe expain the bib hose thing... you may be right about not knowing about somehting on there.. our pool installer was a true "jackass and also a dumbass" and never showed us even one thing about the pool or pumps or anything.. had to just figure it out on my own.
  3. Our pool has not overflowed yet.. but on about 4 occasions, it almost did.. we then have to go out there in the middle of the down pour and backwash the pool to prevent it overflowing.. Will it overflow? is there a better way? What do you all do?
  4. thanks for the info about resetting.. I will try that.. but what does that do actually? I do push the button to get the instant reading..
  5. never mind.. I read online that it blinks if under 2700.... so I will just add more salt I guess.. I was wanting the level to be 2600 or so.. but I guess I need it higher than that..
  6. I have a 18x33 agp with the aqua trol installed.. This is a new pool and new aquatrol.. we installed this in March.. I did take it off about a month ago because the light to check the cell was blinking.. I looked inside and it looked great to me. so I just sprayed out with garden hose and put back on.. Now.... will blink check cell and check salt together.. I reset them both, but soon after they will be blinking again.. oh the salt reading on the machine is 2600 or 2700 so not sure what the deal is.. anyone have any suggestions? I guess I will tonight pull the cell off again and see inside it.. Also what am I looking for inside there? maybe I missed something before? How to clean it too.. the manual does not really say how to clean it.. so Im lost there. thanks
  7. that is pretty neat... I would be interested in seeing a picture of your panels up against your pool.. I by no means need a heater living in the south.. but still pretty cool I think to have heated pool in like Feb or October.. LOL
  8. sorry, did you figure this out?
  9. that is what I thought when I read the faq's about those solar heaters.. each one will heat something like 5-10 degrees.. is that right? For the price seems like a good idea if you have room to put them... They are pretty big.
  10. we really dont have any trees around our pool so we dont have issues with debris at all.. however after a good wind storm and such we get enough that I have to skim out.. The one little skimmer can't keep up with that anyway.. I have read that actually for me a 18x33 AG should or could have 2 skimmers and 2 jets.. but we have one and the return pretty much right next to the skimmer which we found out later that is not really the best place for it.. but that is how the installer did it.. we had no idea at the time.
  11. Im pretty much a newbie too.. we had the same intex pool for 5 years and this year got a 18x33 AG Not sure about the brand you are talking about. We got ours from the installer... I wanted to buy one of the internet, but he talked me into getting the one from him... but now Im having my own issues with him... so whatever. AS for the beaded or overlap.. we have the overlap liner.. one thing that I had heard, and not sure how much is true.. that if there is a lot of horse play and young kids that they can pull the beads off... so that is the only thing I can think of on that.
  12. Wow that is terrible. I would hope the the installer will replace the liner once again.. I would think that the installer will be able to send the damaged liners back for manufacturer defect.. Good luck to you
  13. never heard of them... interesting.
  14. thanks.. yes I think so too.. first he blaimed us and said we must of drained the pool then walked around on it.. then retracted that and said, even if he came back out it would be the same.. I dont know the entire conversation between him and my husband but he was a jerk that is for sure.
