  1. Rrgh hate iPhone autocorrect sometimes. Sorry for the messed up words. Ak. Cya. Etc lol
  2. I would suggest re reading the dichlor / bleach method on this site and stew I've it a bit. 40 a little low for an but 50 60 IMO is just right and stable. I would just keep the am stable around 50-60 so ph will be in range also. My ch is 250 also I have same numbers basically. I do notice my ak dropping the fall after many does of chlorine bleach . Just add a little akalinity up and it stabilizes just fine . I'm on my second fill and going about 2 months + on this water and it still looks great. Had a small cay drop over time so I just added a little dichlor to raise it back up..
  3. Well looking at ur numbers it looks perfect balance with your high calcium ur ak should be around 60 and ph is balanced as well with those numbers.. I see no problems
  4. You don't have to shock to 5 or 6 that's just what I prefer. U could run 2-3 and use ur n2 but I'm still on the fence if it works . I actually purchased it but sent it back after many man days reading with the help of waterbear and chemgeek Mps is only really needed when your partying all night long with lots of dirty people lol in witch your not. Ps I have a lot of chemicals also that I don't use now or need so I understand when u say but I have all this product
  5. Problem with dichlor use all the time is ur cya will go very high and make sanitizer not ineffective. Not good. Mps has been know also to have sensitivity. Since I have been using my bleach only, no more smell and it works perfect. I just leave the cover off for about an hour after I shock. Also it makes your combined chlorine really low, so not much bather waste after shocking . Trust me I was using the dichlor solo and I had problems with cya, smell and longevity of water between fills. Also bleach at Walmart is soo soo cheap to sanitize just don't use splash less . Just Clorox regular 6%
  6. Also I would skip the mps and n2 save ur money. Dichlor until 30 cya then only bleach works soo perfect crystal clear and perfectly sanitized .. Even after heavy soaks u can just shock with the bleach.
  7. Just for reference I use 1/2 to 3/4 cup of 6% bleach every 1-2 days or after each soak My numbers are Ch 250 Ak 60 ph 7.6 Cya 30 With an ozonator This gets my my chlorine up to 5-6.5
  8. Well the meter they use was just for Tds so not really to worried about that seeing as we can go pretty high with the salts say 2500. Didn't mean to say meter but for the Cya is just a bigger tub and more added acid. And it's a reverse caculation compared to my Taylor instead of dot disappearing it reads when u can see the dot.
  9. I've also been shocking to 5 or 6 and it works great. After a month or so on this method my cya is still perfect and my Tds is only at 1200 and that's great. I should be able to go at least 4 or 5 months on a fill. I also use the Taylor k 2006 kit. But for Cya and Tds I take a sample to the pool store they have a bigger cya meter and its more accurate, and the Tds is great for measuring salts. After a couple weeks of adding bleach this method seems almost perfect. Just have to check every couple days for a couple minutes
  10. From my experience ph will not be stable until u reach around 60/70 ak
  11. I run 60 ta with same method. Dichlor bleach , but my ch is at 250. After I add bleach my ph comes back to stable always. So even with your ch at 115 I think I would target some where within 60-70 for you as well
  12. Although I have very good balance in water after much trial and error I would still like one of these to monitor chlorine lol for the days that I dot use spa I could just check the monitor and add bleach when I get down to 1 or 2 ppm chlorine
  13. I would switch to the dichlor/ bleach method. Get a good spa flush product and start over it's more maintenance but very easy and consistent. and with the borates even better
  14. You will need ur ch to determine ur balance. An a Taylor kit for sure. I run 250 calcium hardness, 60-60.5 ta and at my temps 100-103 I'm at 7.6 ph 35 cya on the dichlor/ bleach method. Balanced water is a measure of all these readings.
  15. So just switched to the dichlor/ bleach. It seems to be raising my ph by about .4-.6 or so.. Will this stabilize after a few hours or should I just adjust with acid after bleach adjustment?
