Hot Springs Wiring Debacle. Please Help....

Recommended Posts

We purchased a 2003 Hot Springs Landmark in gorgeous shape. It has been a nightmare process thus far. we installed the wrong type of breaker panel when we did our site prep (did not know for sure what we would buy), the seller did not know that they kept the special 30/20 subpanel that was part of the spa. Had to hire an electrician to remove it and send it to us...yadda yadda.

Now we have the correct subpanel installed, the trench run, the conduit laid out and the wires strung. But my guys are having a hard time determining how the wires actually connect to the IQ panel. Is there some sort of harness or male end that goes on the end of the #10 and #12 wires that make the actual connection? Has someone removed another crucial piece of this spa and neglected to tell us??

Look at the back of the IQ2020 control box cover. The schematic is right there. The wires attach to the terminal block- use a small screwdriver in the upper tab to pry the spring clamp, the wire then slides easily into the round hole just below the tab. Release the tension on the spring clamp by returning the screwdriver to the starting position, and move on the to next wire- should only take a minute to have all wires firmly attached. Tug lightly on the wire after it's in in place to ensure it's secure.
