Gypsy4
HI I am debating on which system to use. I am leaning towards getting a salt water generator by Saltron. Anyone have any experience with using this for a hot tub? I am wanting to steer clear of chemicals. However, I heard that it produces the same thing chlorine, obviously. My questions are is this better for your health using salt water. Plus I heard it is more corrosive on your hot tub's internal mechanics? Does anyone have any experience with these? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks :-)
jessyd
We use the technichlor generator and so far has not had any effects on the mechanics of our hot tub and I don't think that will be an issue. lots of good reviews for the technichlor here http://www.hottubcoverscanada.ca/technichlor-chlorine-generators/reviews/category/salt-water-hot-tubs and their blog had a piece about salt water vs chlorine http://blog.hottubcoverscanada.ca/eco-friendly/salt-water-vs-chlorine-hot-tubs/
PreservedSwine
Many people hear, "Salt water" and think that the salt water is what keeps things bacteria or pathogen growth under control- this is not accurate. Salt water CHLORINE generators simply use the salt in the water to convert into chlorine- the same type of chlorine you can add yourself. Most work very well, just go into it with understanding you're installing a little chlorine factory into the spa, that is no more or less healthy than adding the chlorine yourself.
