  1. We just returned from Edmonton, visiting both Arctic and Sunray during our stay. Our choice at Arctic was a Summit Designer which we ended up going with due to comfort and what we felt was better service. Having looked at Beachcmber which is our only local dealership we were fairly happy with until sitting in the Summit and talking with Arctic. Our local dealership we feel offered us confusion with misplacing our copy of the quote, confusion with arranging our wet test, and with our site survey. This before we ventured into any firm commitment, I myself had reservations with going with them for this reason. During a trip into Edmonton I thought why not take a look at what else is out there. Arctic had the convenient hours that worked for us, offered us the time we needed, and answered all our questions. This during both our visits into the store. My husband absolutely loves the cedar look. As well he has had concerns with the motor sitting under the step, with Beachcomber, for our winters at -35 C are not very forgiving. It was at this point I realized Arctic just pulled out into the running. Ultimately it comes down to what your comfortable with and how the dealership treats you. One drawback we have is that Arctic is not local to us, about a 4 hour drive and thus my concerns with service at a distance. We will see now this plays out in the long run. Well popping into Sunray, for they were referred by friends of ours who have had a problem free one for several years now. This just minutes before their doors closed. They had a 8 month old Capitol sitting on the floor selling for 6 grand with a cedar cabinet at that. WOW!!! We had a tour of the warehouse. Sitting in a Capital however just did not have the same level of comfort that the Arctic did. It sure is a big tub for 4000 less then what the Summit was quoted for. Thou if it does not offer that nice fit for seating why buy it? This for us is why we turned it down. Thou we did sit in the Summit once again just to make sure. One further point with Sunray, they do not offer any type of delivery or site placement. You are on your own. For a bargin like this I guess I can see why this service would be cut. However, we are first time spa owners living 4 hours away, with an elevated deck, going into a somewhat narrow area for access, presented another negative to think about should we have considered purchasing. We are not into the bells and whistles, only wishing for a quality built product that is suitable for where we live and the lifestyle we choose. Well is true the Summit does come with a waterfall and a lightening package, these we feel are just frills. The tub itself we feel is quality made and ranks right up there with Beachcomber. Beachcomber, I believe does have the option for a cedar cabinet and for the plumbing reconfiguration. We would encourage you to do your research, line up your questions, shortlist your dealerships to 3, and then visit all and compare from there. Hope you find yourself a nice one. Spider
  2. We have received a quote of 6996.00 about 2 weeks ago on the 380 as well. The Hybrid features would add another 699.00. This coming from a Beachcomber dealer in Alberta, Canada. We are waiting for a wet test at this time. Like the looks of it so far.
