  1. I have reset the breaker, I think! The outdoor outlet works for other things I have plugged into it, just not the hot tub. That is why I was thinking something happened to the tub. Any other ideas? It is just frustrating! Who do I call? HELP.......... Is there any fuses in the control box on the tub? If so have a look to see if any are blown....
  2. Since this was made in the USA. The green is ground? Black is hot? White is neutral? Correct! Im an electrical contractor BTW... That is the correct color coding but Im not sure how you are hooking it to your board and if the ozonator will come on when it is supposed to..... Thats all I can tell you......

  4. I was looking at a large tank to do the spray insulation. Perhaps something like http://www.fomofoam.com/. I was also thinking of using bags of insulation like packing peanuts to fill the larger spaces. I don't know what the inside of the corner tub looks like so I don't know what I would need just yet. Anyone have any pics? My main question is, is it worth it to try to insulate myself? I called an insulation company and they said they would top mine up for $400 bucks and I live in Canada.. In the US it would probably be cheaper.. I would go that route instead of ordering that stuff...... It would probably be cheaper and easier for you......
  5. Thanks for yeaaa help,,,the spa is under warrenty But is sooooo strange that within 2 hours that I lost 90% of the water.... Yes I am sure its a leak. But its also funny that there is no water on my Slab next to the spa.... And since there in snow off of the slab I would think that the 103 degree temp water from the spa would have melted some snow..... Wellllllll I don't think anyone will be able to come by till next week from where I bought it from. Hope nothing else breaks.....I really hated to shut the power off on the spa,but i am glad I found out about it sooner then later.....JT Hmmmmm maybe there are squirrels drinking the water on you....... HAHA Kidding!
  6. You mention that you bought a 50 double pole breaker but you didn't say it was a GFI.. You need a GFI to feed the hot tub for safety.... Maybe you have one outside already... I'm just too lazy to go up and read all of your posts... haha
  7. I would just run NMWU #6 with 4 conductors. Use the extra blue wire as the ground since you need a #6 ground for pools or spas.(In Canada anyway). By the time you buy the conduit and run wire in the conduit you will have spend just as much money...... Or use a piece of TECK cable. That is basically wire with an armor around it then a weatherproof rubber coating on top of that. Much easier than running #6 in PVC. If you do go the route of PVC make sure you use lots of lube and depending on the length of the run you might want to go with a pipe size bigger than what is called for. I made the mistake of running PVC for a pool heater once and what a pain in the rump trying to get the wire through it... I cringe just thinking about it as Im typing this....... Just thought I would mention this since I'm been there before....... Oh ya, you might want to use an expansion joint on that vertical piece of PVC on the house if you get frost where you are located......
  8. I have the same tub and I found out that the jet the ozonator is hooked to even though it was piped in with pump 2 was actually turned off! Just turn it on but you still won't get any ozone because it's piped in with the wrong motor. Turn the jet on that is right beside the one in the lower corner you are monitoring.. That should allow you to blow out the tube.
  9. I'm sure you are just getting air bubbles and not ozone... You shouldn't need to turn an air valve on for the ozonator to work. The easiest thing to do is trace the ozone pipe to back to the jet and see if it's even hooked up to the one you are monitoring even if you have to chop away at the foam...
  10. Now you're confusing me. Too many numbers. Looks like it cost you $88.92? You don't add in an additional 30-40 beyond last year. The total is the total. Or am I missing something? No I think you're missing nothing but don't like what the poster said as it goes against the claim of a premium spa haveing insanly low electtric bills. this poster is giveing his assesment of his usage not good or bad being $88.92 a month this winter. Now you're really wacked. Joeyhobby never said he bought a premium spa, or that a dealer promised him a certain dollar amount of electric bills a month. Stuff you just made up, as usual. In fact, he said the dealer/manufacturer said they were going to send someone out to spray foam it - which wouldn't need to be done if it was a premium spa in the first place. Right? HAHA It's definitely not a premium spa.... but the description did boast how well it was supposed to be insulated....
  11. The economy mode will also save wear and tear on the pump.... If it is set in standard mode it will kick on and off quite a few times in the run of a day. In the economy mode it only turns on and off twice in the run of a day. When I first turned my tub on and left it in standard it kicked on at least once every 20 min.. It is right outside my bedroom and I would lay there getting more and more annoyed at how much it is kicking on... Economy is deff the way to go.. Even if it doesnt save you much at the end of the month it will save you lots of wear and tear on the motor and the relays on the board. Very true if you are running heat from a dual duty pump, ours heats off the circ pump, the setting of the filter cycle in mine is just to purge the system and to work the economy mode since the circ pump filters 24/7. It was weird to try to figure out at first.....why set a filter cycle when we have a circ, but all makes sense now. I know what you mean.... I still cant figure that one out actually..... I have a circ pump that doesn't heat the water... It also doesnt control the ozone. I just dont use it. It shares a filter with pump 2 also... pffffft but Im not going to get into that again.. I already cried about it in enough posts already... haha

  13. Using the same quality infrared camera to obtain the same readings on another brand of spa would be a valid "apples to apples" comparison, since the only variable that would change is the spa. The fact that we altered our spa doesn't invalidate the readings we got. The readings from any other spa (even an Infinity spa with no additional insulation) would either show a comparable heat loss, a greater one, or a smaller one and would allow for a comparison. I must admit, I'm curious about the hostility in your comment, "How about you take out all of the insulation you have put in then take some thermal imaging and tell us how wonderful it is then." We recognized that, for what we paid, the spa probably wasn't well insulated so we did something about it. Why does that make you angry? If I had been dishonest and had not admitted that we added extra insulation, therefore implying that our readings were based on an Infinity spa that had not been altered, that should make you angry. Sandi HAHAHA I get a kick out or reading posts in forums... I don't know how familiar with posting in forums you are but there always tends to be somebody that likes to argue no matter what you say.. My advice is don't join in on the argument. I'm sure there are lots of people that are reading your posts and not replying that actually appreciate and understand what you are saying. There will always be the 2 or 3 that try to outdo each other for some odd reason... Buuuuuut if you want to keep on arguing with them please do so, it's entertaining to say the least......
  14. Now you're confusing me. Too many numbers. Looks like it cost you $88.92? You don't add in an additional 30-40 beyond last year. The total is the total. Or am I missing something? Im adding the 30 or 40 because thats what my smaller hot tub probably was costing me to run. I got rid of the smaller one bought a bigger one and my bill is still 88.92 more than last year. Which means 88.92 plus what I was paying for the other one. Still confusing?
  15. You've quoted NUMEROUS times what HS and Sundance and other premium spas use in energy.....without ever backing up your figures. Ok I did the math and I used 1167 more KWH than the same month last year less one day. With the hike I only paid $5.00 more. The total with the hike is $88.92 @7.62/kwh. I also had a smaller hot tub running last year so I guess I should figure 30-40 bucks for that. So in the end it does look like $110-$120 to run it for a month....... and it wasn't really that cold..... I've been running it in ECN mode since so I guess Ill see what happens this month..
