  1. I appreciate the reply. I ended up using the bladder a few more times and when I went to backwash the pool the last time, it sucked the debris right out.
  2. I recently opened our pool and we had to usee "fall out" or "Floc" to drop everything to the bottom. When vaccuming we starting losing suction on our Skimmer Line. I feel that I have a partial clog on this line. When I vaccum to waste and turn only the skimmer line on it will have a small stream of water then will get a burst of water every 20-30 seconds. I bought a hose bladder to stick in the pump/skimmer to blow out the line with water and it helped some but did not dislodge whatever is blocking it. Any other suggestions?
  3. I would consider this when installing a slide. I am an Insurance Agent and the company I work for will not insure a home with pool if it has a slide. So even though your current insurance agency states that it will only increase nominally I would keep in mind that if you ever have to switch companies you could run into a problem. Insurance companies also change their approach to certain risks if they have a large claim or several claims involving a certain risk. Just something to consider.
  4. Well, I tested the capacitor and it still has voltage. Pulling the motor tomorrow to see if it is seized, etc. Will let you know for future reeference. Luckily my brother-in-law is a HVAC technician and can get me a motor at his cost. I wiill post a new thread on the advantages/disadvantages of possibly upgrading to a higher hp motor.
  5. I opened my inground pool today and went to turn on the pump and it just hummed. I turned it off and checked the breaker, etc. I turned it back on and tapped the back portion of the motor thinking that would maybe "jar" it. It did not. When I turned it on again it sparked and smoked a little bit right under where the capacitor is located on the back plate. Have I screwed up my motor or does the capacitor sometimes do that?
