  1. Double check that non of the grids have a small tear that you over looked, but more than likely you didn't get one of the grids seated well back in the manifold. If one of them is slightly loose it can cause the DE to blow by and back into the pool.
  2. Would something like this: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/disp...temnumber=90599 When Combined with this: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/disp...temnumber=97047 Would the two of these, maybe with a storage battery work? If so you could do it for less than $400!
  3. This part is actually for a nieghbor. But the problem is it runs nowhere. The previous owner cut the wires to the cell, the flow switch and this third "sensor". The sensor was laying on the ground, its round (about 3/4" to 1"), black, with a nipple that points out. Looks like others I have seen pics of that appear to be drilled into a pipe and held on with a hose clamp? We were tryong to figure it out so we could see what parts of his salt system do and dont work. THen maybe have it running for him in the next month or so.
  4. Thanks Chem Geek, thats exactly what I was looking for. Also, there are three wires coming out of my goldline aqua rite salt system. I know ones goes to the cell, and one goes to a flow switch. But what is the third sensor? I couldn't find anything on goldlines website.
  5. I have a 30,000 SWCG system. Is there a low temperature when salt systems are no longer effective and I have to add chlorine manually? Someone told me below 50 degrees ambient temp that the salt system won't generate and I need to add tabs. Also, the pool is about 8 years old and I had it retrofitted with the salt system about 3 years ago. Sense then I have had some major deterioratinon of the coping. It's a white natural stone not sure what kind. Some have said thats its the salt system and some say that I may need to run more extensive testing of the water beacuse other things can cause it. What other chemistry issues could be causing this? What should I be looking for and what should I be testing for?
  6. i have already treid pentairs website but they have nothing listed.
  7. I am needing to replace the filter element in my cartridge filter. It's a clean and clear from pentair. But I can't locate a part number anywhere. I have looked at the housing and all over the filter itself, and there is nothing readable. Someone told me i could measure it and compare to the 5 recomended sizes for my unit. But where can I find a list of dimensions to cross refference? thanks
  8. Good info for next time. But how do I correct the cloudiness now. I may have missed something in your post...
  9. Hey I have an AGP that is about 12,000 gallons. The PH, TA, and CA were reading low. I brought the CA back up. Then added 5lbs of soda ash to help with the PH. It only showed a small increase and the water was just slightly cloudy. After 24hrs I added another 5lbs of soda ash. Now all of the chemicals are reading in the proper ranges but the water is cloudy. What do I need to do? Run the pump some more for longer duration? Vaccum? Water was clear prior to adding soda ash. It has now been 72 hours since the last treatment and all chemicals are within normal limits and the total chlorine is on the highside.

  11. Got on the phone te other day with Jandy tech support and determined it was the PCB. So, it's not going to be a cheap fix. But at least I know what it is now.
  12. I disconected it at the panel outside. I was reading the manual on the unit. Would a bad backupbattery cause this? I tried clearing all old programs but it seems to still retain part of them.
  13. Is there a way to put a meter on the relay or other equipment to check it rather than the wait and see method? Thanks
  14. I have a jandy aqualink system. The booster pump has been truning on in the evening and the panel in the house shows that everything is off. I have to shut down and reset the system to turn it off at that point. Today it came on did the same thing at a different time. Someone told me to try taking the remote spa switch out of the circuit, I did that and it still malfunctioned. What else could I look at to diagnose the problem?
