  1. I agree, Costco does their homework before they sell something. I wasn't sure where I was putting my hot tub so I bought a couple dollies and had the delivery guys leave the spa on the two dollies. It was an easy roll to the backyard from there. I had no luck negotiating with Costco regarding delivery. They made it very clear that they were dropping it off on the driveway! Good luck. Over the past decade Costco has absolutely sold entry level spas that had a very poor quality history. Costco may do their homework on many products but they get a D grade for the spas they sold previously. The latest versions have not been out long enough to grade but don't make the mistake of thinking because its from Costco its a quality product because this is one area where they do not have a good track record. What fourm do all the dissatisifed costco onwers post on? i would like to here thier stories about thier poor quality spas. most of the problems I see here are non costo spa related.
  2. nope it was a glitch with the costco website....sale ends today Good whats the delivery time looking like on these
  3. I've always preached half and half to those who ask my advice. Ya know that sounds good gona do 1/2 and 1/2 an see what happens.
  4. wow YOU GUYS REALLY GET OFF TRACK FAST? STAY FOCUSED PLEASE ITS A SIMPLE QUESTION SOFTINER OR NOT PLEASE ANSWER: WATER SOFTNER YES OR NO WATER SOFTNER NO tHANKS AND PLAY NICE
  5. Just wondering if i should fill my spa from the water indoors that uses the whole house water softener or from the outside source that bypases the water softener?
  6. yes i see that but when you try to order its not there to order i think the sale ended early.
  7. My friend wanted to get a Strong spa from Costco with the lounger but its gone now. will thier be another soon? He really likes the Palm Beach and Key West.
  8. HD has a nice box four $49.00 50amp spa gfci and and its made so you can inatall a 110 120v circuit of it also. In my california city, the code is SPA GFCI between 5 - 10 ft from the spa and a 120v gfci socket/plug 10 - 20 ft away.
  9. Palm Beach 60. Well last week I had a break in my school work and was able to run and hook up the 220v Electrical the new spa(the city inspector said its one of the best jobs he has seen). When i first turned on the breaker i was worried because i read post of incorrect wiring that caused GFCI breaker tripping I just read and followed the manual and all was fine. the pump came on and the spa started heating up it took about 4 hours to get from 71 to 104. The lights and waterfall really look cool at night. As far as the pressure of the jets i have nothing to compare it to because this is the first and only spa i have been in. it seems to be fine. My only complaint so far is the Headrest keep coming off Maybe Strong can help me with this? Since i got it working i have to get up up speed on what chemicals i need for the water. I forgot i did notice a very small leak coming from one of the spa pump unions, this is covered in the manual and was fixed right away just by tightening the unions from shipping. I will post more after using a few more times.
  10. I used preaure treated 2"x4"'x8' planted in the ground about 3 inches and used 16 wood stakes to hold in place the dug out the inside 4 inches and filled with5/16 pea gravel. My hround is very hard level and stable. So far no pronlem. i also did not want to lay a concreate slab for other reasons including price. price for the gravel was $48 delivered to my driveway for a yard only needed about 3/4 of it.
  11. Sorry I do not have photos. In my current home, I fed the box from below, so it's different - no rain hub, just the adapter nutted in as Roger mentioned. I just took a look at a few risers coming up out of the ground. Some are Carlon, some are JM... sunlight resistant... with UL spec number. Some are old, some new. It all seems to be holding up fine. Most of the rain hubs I've used over the years are diecast pot metal (a catch-all term for cheap zinc diecasting alloys) and they all seem to be made by just one or two places that supply them to Square D, G.E., etc. Again, they seem to work fine. PVC conduit fittings are likely Chinese-made... ugh... but then again I've used a lot of them over the years that I just get at Home Depot and never had a problem. If there was an electrical supply house close that had USA-made fittings, I would go there on general principle. OK thanks all you comments are thankfull. If any one has any pics pleas let me know.
  12. Knock out the 1 1/4 hole on the GFCI box, if there is one? Then slide a box adapter onto the PVC and glue. Stick the adapter in the hole you knocked out and put the nut on the inside of the box. They make several kinds of box adapters for PVC, offset is likely what you will need if your going up a wall or post. Theres several different levels of quality in PVC pipe and fittings. Depending where you buy them. I like to buy the good stuff, seems to last longer, cut easier, glue easier, stay looking new longer, not get brittle as quick and fit better. Does the good stuff have a brand name?
  13. I rather not say, I dont want to open this tread up tp spa bashing as i have seen here b4 only want to get the electrical hooked up. using a 50 amp spa gcfi made by midwest/ge. Thanke for understanding
  14. Ok thanks so far any one have any pictures?
