  1. I would vote for MasterSpa (with their mineral filters) that help in balancing the water - less chemicals Hot springs is also a great spa with TriX filters, little expensive but i believe they have the best reputation in terms of build quality. Caldera i believe is their lower line of models. Good luck!!
  2. Would you consider getting a bypass valve from waterway or who ever and threading that into the ports? you will have to create a plug with check valve. there are check valves available in different sizes for between $30 - $40
  3. i am assuming this is an Above ground pool, this is what i recommend to my folks, i guess someone else can also chime in here and help you with this... *POOL SHOULD NOT BE COMPLETELY DRAINED* Check Manufacturers instruction on how to close your pool to protect it in the cold winter months. For above ground pools with a vinyl liner, a dry pool may cause tearing and cracking due to the cold weather, which can potentially damage the Linear beyond repair. Following steps can help in closing the pool for the winter 1. Clean up the pool and the surrounding area so as to be free of dirt, debris, leaves, branches and other materials that could get blown into the pool and potentially change the chemistry of the pool water. Scrub off the walls, surfaces and then with the help of a hand held pool vacuum or an automatic pool cleaner, remove all dirt and debris. 2. Verify pool equipment and ensure there is no severe damage or heavy wear and tear before the temperature start to decrease. Repair anything that is damaged and look out for cracks and tears in the pool liner or plumbing equipment. 3. Add the right Chemicals for winterizing (closing the pool for winter). After 24 hrs. Check the pool pH and alkalinity levels or as recommended on the winterizing kit. 5. Run the Filtration System for an hour after adding the pool chemicals. The water circulation will help to cleaning any leftover dirt and evenly disperse the chemicals. 6. Lower the Water level to be below the skimmer. Read the manufacturers recommendations for lowering the water level in your pool and make sure it is about two inches below the surface of the skimmer. 7. Clean the Filters. For D.E filters, Backwash the D.E. and clean out the grid and the inside of the tank For Cartridge filters, make sure to clean the cartridge and the inside of the tank For Sand filters, run an extra-long backwash to thoroughly clean the sand. Now Remove all filter hoses, remove the drain plugs from the pump, filter, and heater, to ensure no excess water is trapped in the system. 8. Store all equipment including pool ladder, pool steps, pool lights and other accessories in a safe and dry place for the rest of the time. 9. Winter Pool Cover to be installed as per manufacturers directions carefully, and take the time to spread the cover evenly across the surface of the pool. 10. And some Care, during the winter season keep it clean of any debris, leaves, branches, snow or ice accumulation on the cover. It may cause the cover to weigh down over time or may damage the cover which can be very difficult to fix.
  4. i think you should contact the filter manufacturer. they sometime have a tool that you can use to retrieve the adapter. Some of them are nice enough to give you a free filter.
  5. Hey scott, did you change or rewire your GFCI? the GFCI is usually very sensitive to leakage currents or a ground fault in general, that would prevent you from electrocution and also from being able to flip the switch all the way up. hope this thing works out for you soon buddy.
  6. Nature 2 does not work well with bromine, you might want to consider Frog. they have a good Mineral and bromine package, pretty much similar to Nature2
  7. My best buddy got a bullfrog, never heard him complain this past 1 year. He had an older version of bullfrog, which we all have used, but this new one is simply amazing. it is more value for what you pay and own. i dont think so he ever gets bored, he can keep changing seats and frames as per his likes. I understand that the new design has less moving parts, way less plumbing than conventional spas, for me that is a better situation to be if it ever leaks. Sundance is OK, but not heard if they did anything recently from an innovative perspective.
