  1. Actually, worst case scenario is you may have to replace the motor. The bearings may be shot or, like I had last month, a motor shaft was so corroded onto the impeller that the threaded part of the shaft broke off. That white plastic piece on the shaft is looks like the water slinger on a Waterways pump. Might be $250-500 for a complete pump depending on model and size (is it a two speed pump?) If you have freeze concerns you may want to get a new pump/motor assy. and swap it out completely and then rebuild the old one for a spare. Yep thats exactly what i am going to do. 500 for a new one but iwont have to worry about it.....its a toy somethines they cost money
  2. Seal are available from any pool spa store or online. If the pumps run without a screeching sound, the motor should ok. Prices for pumps range a great deal starting around $279.00. If you want to go that way make sure it is replaced with same horsepower and voltage. Also pipe connection 1.5 or 2 inch. From the pic It looked like a Waterways, without a better pic I am not sure, but the seal would be a ps1000 or as1000 Sounds great thanks again so much for the help. I will post a picture of the whole pump tonight if that will help.
  3. Wow thanks for the tips i really appreciate it. It doesnt seem too bad so where do i get the seal from? also, how much would it be to just replace the whole pump. It doesnt seem to loud but i really dont know how loud it shold be
  4. Thanks for the info.... How long of a job is this? Guess i am worried bcause it is winter here and i am worried about freezing. Where would a guy order a seal from. Is there a step by step for this somewhere? Sorry for all the questions and i really appreciate all your help
  5. I was wondering what would the options be of just replacing the whole assembly vs just fixing it. Would it be crazy expensive?
  6. Thanks for the information. Unfortunetly i am 6 hours away from any service technician so not sure what i will do. It has only been leaking for 2 weeks at the most that i am aware of. How hard is it to take out the pump?
  7. http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/5835/p1010544r.jpg Is this a pump shaft seal leak....you can actualyl see the water shooting out by where the white strip is. Only comes out when jets are on....\ If it is a seal...how to i go about fixing it?

  9. Hey guys i was just wondering where to order fix a leak from in canada?
  10. Could this have something to do with my divertor valves? maybe i am not using them properly
  11. just a question about your divertor valve...why would this have had an impact on the leak?
  12. I also have about four jets that have come out and have been ordered to be replaced. Do you think this could cause an issue because there is no jets in the holes right now.
  13. it is an alaskin 2003 i think i bought it used so i doubt i have warranty. I also dont have anyone in my area who can come in and fix the problem... i am gong to spend the day looking at it tomorrow. Any suggestions as to what i should look for
  14. Ok guys so i topped up the tub again and it been two days and it doesnt appear to be losing any water. Although it is still a little wet underneath the pump. I am wondering if this means anything as no one has been in the tub for two days and we really havent lost any water. Something to do with the jets not being used
  15. Hey Guys I have noticed in the past few weeks my water level has been dropping. about 2 -3 inches a week. So i took off the panels today and noticed water pools directly underneath the pump. I turned off the breaker and then dried the water but in a few minutes it was starting to get wet again. I checked all the lines and none appear wet and none of the folme was wet at the base. I really dont know what to do as i am kind of anewbie. I really need to get this fixed asap as the weather is about to get much much cooler soon and filling it up weekly will be a huge pain. I am also concerned about the wetness so close to the electrical. Anyone with any ideas whatso ever please help! Ryan
