  1. Hi krisb, I am also in London and looking into purchasing a spa. I went to the Sundance dealer and while I found them very helpful I got a "take it or leave" it feeling from them when I tried to push on pricing. They advised me that most of their sales were from referrals so they did not play the pricing game and upset people. While I am sure they have their reasons for sticking to this business model it certainly did not help them sell a spa to me that day. I am still looking but not sure if I will go back since they are on the other side of the city.
  2. Hi True Blue, I am sure Tom can answer this too but I emailed them this question already and the answer I got back was yes. The issue i have is there is no Arctic dealer in London Ontario (hint, hint Tom ) so any service would be done out of Kitchener (hour away)and travel cost would only be included for the first year. As well the current price point is ok but by the time I add on stuff you can get the dealer to include such as delivery, lifter, chemicals, steps it closes the price gap quite a bit. Be nice if I could try one out too. I will be interested to know if Costco will offer these online with delivery included as an option. If they did this along with maybe a limited sale I would once again be tempted if I have not purchased a spa by that point. Lack of local Arctic dealer could be a dealbreaker. I think it is great that a company rep which I assume Tom is posts on this site to answer question or concerns. A small investment in time but good corporate responsibility. Unfortunately Arctic Spas are not one of my options since there is no dealer in the area. Marc
  3. The price for the 360 Hybrid with the items you mentioned seems very good...in BC it would sell for $8600 to $8975....considering it has to be shipped across the country not too bad.. its all the add ons that bump it up...cover lift $249, ClearTech $699, water care $169, Delivery $350 taxes $823. Its a nice tub...you wont be dissapointed. Thanks for the feedback Hotrod. I am taking the wife to have a look at it tonight. It is a bit more than I planned to spend but we will see what else the salesman can do. Could take the Cleartech out to save money but I prefer not if it will reduce the chemical usage. Not sure if their energy efficiency claims are realistic at less than $10 per month in Ontario however I planned on $30 a month going into this so quite a margin of error. Marc
  4. Hoping someone can offer some advice. Started my spa search some time ago and must admit this forum is an invaluable source of info to the point of addicting. More someone like me who over analyzes everything I just can't seem to get enough, although thi sis tame compared to Tripadvisor when planning a holiday! Hope my work is not tracking my internet usage... I have hopefully narrowed my search down to a few spas and would appreciate a gut check on some of the prices. Beachcomber 360 Hybrid includes Clear tech UV water care, delivery, chemicals, lifter, taxes for $8400 CAD Sundance Hartford, no options includes delivery, taxes and I think chemicals for $6995 Maxx Spas CC 107 - no options includes delivery and taxes for $6995 Sunrise Posiden BX - Stereo and lights options including delivery taxes for $6780 Dynasty Spas Victory - delivery, taxes, lifter, chemicals for $8000 Down East Spas (Master Spas) Cade Cod - includes everything as well as GFI for $8000 Apollo Spas Mount Robson from Costco - $6780 taxes included My initial budget was $8000. My gut feel right now is the Beachcomber however I would need to see if they could work on the price to stay on budget. We have not wet tested anything yet as I wanted to limit dragging my wife and 10 month old to only 3 places. Prefer to lock in price best I can before testing or risk bringing home a $15K tub that cuts the grass. To most the veterans relief on this board I have pretty much talked myself out of the Costco tub. It does have the support of the same manufacturer as Arctic but don't think the nominal savings is worth the effort. Upon close inspection it does appear constructed to a lesser standard but that is why it is cheap. It is too bad there is not a site online like there is for cars that tell you the dealer price so I could negotiate based on the dealer margin. Ther is an idea for anyone out there that has that data. Would be a service I would subscribe to for a nominal fee. If anyone has any comments or feedback i would greatly appreciate it. Marc
  5. Hi Marc, Apollo Spas are owned by Blue Falls Manufacturing who manufacture Arctic Spas and Coyote Spas. They are made in the USA, Washington i think. If you follow the link below you can download a brochure from my website. Apollo Spas Brochure We have been stocking Apollo since the start of 2009 and they seem like a good value well made spa. In particular we have sold quite a few Explorer models and we have had no faults/complaints from customers. Thanks!! The one on sale at C___co is the Mount Robson model which does not show up on their website but looks their Chelan model with a couple added options. Price on it was $6K CAD which seems good especially with it being manufactured by the same company as Arctic. Even if a value line I doubt they would risk their reputation by manufacturing crap. Question I will ask Blue Falls Manufacturing (Arctic) will be if their support network will support this tub. Price point makes it a consideration. Could you tell me what your price range is for a Chelan model for comparison (I realize you have extra costs to absorb to bring to the UK). Hi Marc, the Chelan retails over here in the UK at £7,400.00. I didnt know Apollo where in Costco they are not over here. If they stock them in Costco over here i will drop the brand. That would be a not right for the manufacturer to do that to the local owner stores and then sell them much lower through a mega merchant. How would they think you could compete? I have not seen any Apollo spas in Washington state Costco stores. If I recall... Apollo Spas has been in business for many years and made locally in the Seattle area. I thought the Apollo dealerships where simply carrying the Arctic brand now? As I said I just noticed these at my local Costco this weekend and I know they just got them in. I asked one of the guys who works there to check stock levels and it looks like they only got a few. Might be a one time thing for Costco which is quite common for them if they got a good deal. They are not listed on their website anywhere. To look at it from the manufacturers POV under tough economic conditions they have to make hard choices. They could be faced with reduced orders and excess inventory so needed to make a decision that might not be liked by all but was ultimately required. I cannot fault anyone for that choice. Also to be fair there are no dealers of Apollo Spas anywhere around here, not sure if they are even in Ontario. Closest Arctic dealer is over 100 km away on Kitchener too. They are not undercutting any of their local dealers because there are not any. They may be undercutting the competition which is fine by me!! While the deal is tempting I am waiting to hear back from them as to what type of support they can provide. As long as I feel the warranty is solid I am ok with handling delivery logistics and the extras in exchange for several thousands of dollars saved. Marc

  7. I am having difficulty digging up information on this vendor. Kind of looks like they are linked to Arctic Spas but may have just copied parts of the website design. Just seen one today at everyones favorite warehouse store... Anyone know their history? Marc
  8. Does anyone have any comments on Sunrise Spas? i have not found much feedback on them on this site. Their insulation method looks somewhat unique and while they say it is the best (doesn't everyone) I would be curious to hear from someone who owns one as to avg monthly operating costs compared to others or maybe original expectations? Any other comments or feedback appreciated as well! Looking to buy our first spa and would like to get all the benefits and efficiencies of high end models but not looking to drop over $8K on something I am not certain we will use all the time. Marc
