mrwrick
Hi, I am installing a new Del Ozone generator into my old Hot Spring Classic spa. I have the make and female power outlet. Since the ozone generator will run continuously like the circulation pump I decided to wire it into the same relay as the circ pump, black white and green wires to the same poles as the number one relay. Please confirm for me that this is correct wiring or guide me otherwise. Thanks
Hot Spring Official
There are a few variations of the equipment compartment layout as well as different electronic controls that have been used throughout the years this model was produced. Please provide your serial number so we may be able to identify your spa and advise accordingly.
mrwrick
Thanks,my serial number is 331997, it is a 1993 Classic F. The thermostat circuit has been converted from DC to AC, it has a new heater and a new thermostat and circulation pump. The pump is a 24/7 pump for the continuous filtration feature. I believe it is a Silent-Flo 5000 or comparable model replacement.
mrwrick
I also posted a request for guidance about mounting the ozone generator on the left side panel inside the equipment compartment. It has some holes where tubing is routed and also has a bracket screwed on for possibly a flashlight. There is no evidence of leakage at either the screw location for the bracket or the tubing openings. This panel also has the model and serial number labels and a caution label. Is this the right place to mount the generator?
mrwrick
Well, here I am again. I have replied to a post about a Solana not heating, but I would like to see if this will get Hot Spring Official to give me guidance if you do not catch my request in the other post. My 1993 Hot Spring Classic F, serial number 331997, has a heating issue. Everything works but the heat. I installed the following new parts: thermostat, heater relay, convrted from DC to AC as recommended for this model, and lastly a Del Ozone MCD-50 generator with Mazzei injector. All systems work but no heat. I even took the heater element out again and tested it with the adapter plug and it heats quickly. But when all is together the heater casing does not heat up at all. It has been overnight with circulation pump and ozone generator running fine, jets working fine, thermostat clicks when turned up past the lowest dial setting and again when turned past that setting, but no heat. Could it have to do with the DC/AC conversion? Could it be another heat system componet I am not aware of? What do I test and how? Thanks All. I have seen troubleshooting websites that refer to other heater system issues I do not have, like flow switches, pressure switches. My spa is as simple as it gets. I hope you can help.
