denverd1
hi all. first post on this forum, but not new to forums at all. I love the sense of community and many other nuggets of knowledge that these offer. Sounds like a great community from what I've seen so far. Hope you don't mind my first is one asking for help on my tub. Got a question on my 2003 Sovereign and was hoping someone had seen these symptoms before. I recently (6 mos ago) replaced one of the temp sensors just inside the access panel. Had a blinking green light that prompted me to replace it. All was well after the replacement and its functioned flawlessly since then. Today I drained it with the power off, leveled it out a bit (the pad had settled and it was off about 1"on one end) and refilled it. About 3/4 full I plugged it in to start heating. Got the blinking red light so I pulled out the plunger to clear the air from the circulation system. Got some air out of there and heard some lines filling with water around the pump. Unplugged it, waited about 10 seconds and plugged it back in. It instantly tripped the power at the big plug that goes into the 30 amp breaker. i tried to clear more air, same thing happened over and over. I was able to act quickly and get the jets going hoping to circulate things and burp more air out of the system. It would shut off within 5 seconds of plugging it into the plug. Not sure which direction to go to find the issue. Anyone seen this on a circa '03 Hot Springs or Sovereign? Thanks in advance. Howdy from Texas, denverd1 Edit: forgot to add I searched and found this thread: http://www.poolspaforum.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=45942 looks like he had to replace the circ pump. also seems undoing the pump leads will reset things. any thoughts?
