  1. Thanks for advice. I really do try to empty all "visible" water by hand, using a spunge to empty the spa completely. I also use the drain plug, but probably there is still som old water in pumps and pipes that is impossible to drain, unless you take the HT apart and turn pumps up side down etc. I also flush the spa with open drain plug with fresh tap water to really flush all the bad water out. I will however try to skim the surface water either as suggested or by using a hose and letting the Haevert principle skim the surface. My spa dealer also gave me a few floating devices made of som flossy material and the idea is to let these float freely and absorb the oily film floating on the surface. If I do this after little time I can rinse the floating devices, "Water Lily" I believe they are called. They feel pretty greasy, so maybe they work, but I feel they are not so effective. So I do think hard work is what I need to put into this to get back to where I was before "Pipe cleaner". But if there is an easy way, maybe chemistry way, I would love to get some advice on this. /Z
  2. My HT has been running problem free for almost a year now, it´s an Artesian Dove Canyon with all extras. About a month ago I was changing the water and used a product called "Pipe cleaner" especially made for spas. I carefully followed the labelled instructions. After refilling the tub there was a lot of foam, probably residues from the cleaner, so I immediately drained and refilled letting the pumps run for 30 mins or so bearing Nitros decontamination process in mind. The water now was a bit better but still carried a lot of foam. After a few weeks I did another "double" refill with fresh tap water, but problem remained. A few days ago the water was still foaming on the surface, but now also the water seemed to enclose a lot of micro air bubbles in the water itself, not only on the surface, so I did another "double" refill, this time with Nitros super chlorine chock in between. The water still foams on the surface and has a visible oily film on the surface, although no one has been in the water. Could this still be due to the "Pipe cleaner" or might there be another reason for the film and foam? My water readings are all "in the normal" and I am using tap water. /Z
  3. Dear Violinfather, I went the same match, choosing between Sundance and Artesian (Cameo and Dove Canyon, since I wanted a lounger). My choice was Artesian, but it was close. A friend of mine has the Cameo, so I have had several opportuinties to direct cross compair, and I am totally happy with my choice (although my friend is happy with his). The main reasons for me choosing Artesian before Sundance were: - individual pumps for each seat - individual control for each seat ("What happened to my massage?") - superior (IMHO) massage, more powerful - lower noise level for Artesian (especially irritating valve noise from Sundance due to diverters, which there are none of in Artesian) - more water filtered per hour + better filter capacity (area) - better LED light option (I use it all the time) - easy (one button) on/off switch for airmix / non airmix in jets - slightly bigger Whichever way you choose to go you won´t be dissapointed, those are two great HTs. Good Luck! /Zirgalmnod

  5. I have had my Dove Canyon for about 6 months now and I can honestly say that I am totally happy with it. The layout is perfect for me and my wife with 1 lounger, and 2 nice corner seats. The layout is very open so you can float around in a nice way. Filtering capacity and ozon works nicely so the water is very clear in most cases. I have had no issues at all so quality wise Artesian seems to be among the best. What I particullary like compared to most other makes, is that every seat is individually controlled and has its own pump. Please note that I dont sell Artesian or any other Hot Tub (I´m selling mobile phones....). I went for allt he options including LED light upgrade, CD/radio, etc. and I don´t regret that, it´s worth the few (?) extra bucks. Currently I have "Sade" (Soldiers of Love) on repeat, great spa music btw.... If a can recommend Artesian? Yes, I can! /Zirgalmnod
  6. I guess my method "Active oxygen" is lost in translation (swedish to english). Should work as an oxidizer but not disinfection, hence the chlorine that I add once a week (so far). I guess I will take the advice not to remove pillows. There are always replacements to buy.... /Z
  7. Rite, really helpful... Put like this: Those of you who use chlorine in any form, do you remove pillows and leave cover off after adding chlorine / bleech? /Z
  8. Hi there I have been using active oxygen after every soak and adding 30-60 ml of "Spa chlorine" (dichlor?) once a week. This seems to have done a reasonably good job up until now, where water tends to get a bit foamy and misty. I have a strong feeling that chlorine would be a better sanitizer, and I am considering switching to chlorine. The main reason for not using chlorine all the time is that my dealer told me that I should remove pillows when adding chlorine and leaving the cover off for 30-45 minutes after adding chlorine to avoid deterioration. It would be a pain to do this if I were to switch to chlorine after every soak. It´s cold enough outside right now in northern Europe without having to mess around with pillows and stuff. So the question is really, is there a good reason for removing pillows and leaving the cover off for 30-45 mins? /Z
  9. It´s your choice. There is no "best spa". Only you can decide. I am happy with mine (not HS). Good Luck and Enjoy! /Z
  10. If you are looking for great massage options I can truly recommend Artesian. Individual pumps and control for each seat is great.
  11. I have not noticed that I get drunk faster in my HT than outside it. However I allways drink the double amount of water when I drink alcohol while soaking. Otherwise I get an instant and terrible head ache.
  12. Seasons Greetings ! I got an error message: "SP in" + a wrench on my display. According to the manual "Input voltage is too low. Either problem with the terminal connections or the powerline." Everything is fully operational and runnig at full speed and heat, but error message won´t dissapear. According to the dealer this could be the result of a power outage, I did cut the power for 4-5 hours for other reasons before the message appeared. Dealer says it is safe to soak, but I would like to delete the error message. Now during the holidays + a lot of snow, it is not easy to get service. Any ideas on this one? /Zirgalmnod
  13. No offense, but I think you are in the wrong mood to buy a luxury product that talk to your senses. My suggestion is that you wait until you are up to it, with your present attitude chances are you go wrong. Buying a Hot Tub should be a lustful enterprise, not annoying hard work (in my opinion anyway). Z
  14. My stains rub off quite easily with a soft spunge, that is not the problem. My dealer says that this is normal, but he could not explain why it happens. I kind of like the idea of ozon and that the tiny bubbles do good, but having to rub off stains every now and then makes me feel something is wrong. /Ziggy
  15. Hi there I have noticed some yellow/brown plaque building up around the nozzle where the ozon air bubbles come out. I noticed this after 3-4 weeks of use of a brand new tub, first fill. It sits in the bottom of the tub, an Artesian Dove Canyon with white acryl. I can rub it off with a soft spunge, but it sits fairly hard. Any one else who has the same experience? Any suggestions what could cause this? /Zirgalmnod
