  1. Ok got a problem here. Finally got the new pump and the thread is 2 inch not 2 1/2 like my old one. No problem I'll just take off the faceplate of my old pump which still looks good and put it on the new pump. As much as I try I cannot get it to snap in place. Now here is the weird part. Both faceplates fit on my old pump. So has anyone had success in changing the faceplate on a 56 series waterway pump from a 2 inch to a 2 1/2? If they both fit on my old waterway why would they both not fit on my new one? One thing I noticed is my new pump is model pf-40-2n22m but my old one is pf-40-2n22c. According to the internet they should be the same pump? Thanks for any help. Sheldon
  2. Thanks. That sites prices look really good. Anyone think this pump would be the same as mine? http://www.pool-spa-supplies.com/index.php/pumps/jet-pumps/waterway-56f-executive-pump-2-speed-4hp-230-volt-12-0a-4-4a-3721621-1d.html
  3. Looks like I need a new pump for my Arctic Spa. I have a flo error on the display and the pump is not working. It just buzz's and when I took the side off I saw that water is leaking from the bearing and it's all rusted. I assume it probably seized. It's a waterway pump pf-40-2n22c. Anybody use one of the online sites for parts and have good service? Sheldon
  4. I went into my local Arctic store to stock up on supplies and was given a sales push to buy Aquafinesse. They of course make it sound like it's virtually maintenance free. Not using any bromine or chlorine or checking levels seems a little fishy to me. I know you guys all give realistic advice so I've come to you for suggestions. Anyone used this product? How is it and would you recommend it? Thanks.
  5. Sounds exactly like the problem I had on the used arctic spa I bought. I had to buy a new circuit board and it fixed the problem.
  6. What are you shocking with and how much? Did you put in a packet (2 oz.) of sodium bromide when you filled the spa? Was your bromine reading ever ok? You might try the chemistry forum with this question. There are folks there that have a good handle on this sort of thing. No I didn't put a packet of sodium bromide in when i filled the spa. I just waited till it got to 90 and dropped in the floated with the tablets and shocked. I'm using what came with the tub. They are Spaguard spalite oxidizer packs. Is this the wrong stuff? Sheldon
  7. Thanks for the reply's guys. I put it down to 1 hour twice a day and see how the water looks. So far the water is really nice and clear. One other question for you guy's. My Ph and TA seem high but my bromine reading hardly registers. I started the water on sunday and have had one group over and 2 other times just me and the wife. I have shocked 3 times but the bromine still is low? Shocking 3 times in 3 days the bromine should be high right? Am I doing anything wrong? Sheldon
  8. Just bought a used tub which is my first. Just wondering what you experts have found is the best combination of filter cycles? I'm using the bromine floater. The spa has options of 1 or 2 hour cycles from once per day up to 4 times a day. It looks like standard is 1 hour 4 times a day. Is this overkill or not enough or just right? Thanks Sheldon
  9. Changed the circuit board and left the tub to heat last night. Woke up this morning and it's at 102! Can't wait to finally use the tub. Now I have to figure out all this chemical stuff hahaha. By the way wanted to mention that if you have any trouble with your Arctic Spa hottub give James Keirstad a PM. The guy is awesome! He helped me all through trying to figure out what was wrong with my tub and never told me I should just buy a new tub like some guys say. James you have made me a fan of Arctic Spa thanks again for all your help. He's definitely one of the good guy's. Now why am I on here typing when I should be in my spa! Sheldon
  10. I know that Beachcomber had a fee you paid and you could tranfer the warranty once. Don't know if Sundance has that though.
  11. Even seeing it fully operational isn't a guarantee with a used tub. I wet tested a used tub which worked perfect, got it home and the board was fried. Always expect fixing something usually.
  12. i have worked on GECKO stuff before on coast flaws stuff burnt boards are common on those things just jet a new board don't mess with it you may end up chasing problems for day's good luck I'm going to try changing the heater relay. If that doesn't work I guess it will be a new board.
  13. I finally got my used tub I bought hooked up and noticed a leak. Its on one of the 2 intakes at the bottom where it sucks water to go to the filter. It's a slow leak that drips about once every 15 seconds from the connection on the inside. The water is dripping from the thread where the hose screws into the housing. I know the first response would be tighten the connection. But the tricky part is this connection is different than the ones on the pump or heater that are your basic ridged connections. This one has 2 sortof raised fins on each side and seems like it might need a special tool to tighten or take off. Anyone had to deal with a leak like this before and know what to do? Thanks Sheldon
