  1. After reading some at http://www.troublefreepool.com it looks like the method can be used. I'll check to see if the pool has a SWG, which I bet it does.
  2. I currently use the dichlor/bleach method in my hot tub, and it works great. I am considering buying a new house that has a pool. The pool is fiberglass with no liner, but I don't know any other specifics about it. Can I use the dichlor/bleach method using clorox bleach like I do in the hot tub?
  3. I have a Jacuzzi J-280 that needs a new lid. It is in direct sun most of the day, and it has developed holes which means it now weighs about 100 pounds per side. The sun also destroyed the plastic on the Covermate 3 lifter, so I need a new lifter as well. I come here asking for advice because the choice of covers seems daunting and I wanted to ask for suggestions for reputable vendors. Thanks!
  4. Definitely interested in this too. I can't find any 6% bleach anymore.
  5. I've been using the Dichlor/Bleach method which works wonderfully. However, there is a new trend in bleach in which it is all "concentrated" and is 8.x % hypochlorite instead of the normal 6%. I assume this won't be much of an issue, as long as I use less to get the same desired effect. Just wanted to run this by the experts on the board...
  6. I've had my J280 for 2.5 years and the cover is shot. It has multiple holes and is full of water. That weight finally took its toll on the lifter which broke. So I'm in the market for both a cover and lifter, anyone have suggestions on which kinds and where to buy? I'd like to find a lifter that is made of metal - my current one is plastic and UV rays degraded it, I think it's a covermate II). I'm also interested in a "cover cap" to protect the cover from UV during the summer. Thanks for any sugggestions.
  7. Turned it down to 90, thanks for the advice. It's been just brutally hot lately, maybe it will feel good.
  8. Just wanted to update this topic - the fix Spa God suggested did indeed fix my problem.
  9. I've been debating what I should do with the tub now that it is summertime. I'm to the point in which I need to replace the water but I'm thinking I'll wait to do that closer to fall when I might actually use the tub. My thinking is that I'll just keep maintaining the water as I usually do. Is that easier than draining it and just turning it off for the summer? My fear is that even after draining and using a shop vac to get water out, there will still be some in there and it will get really nasty. What do you do during the summertime?
  10. Called dealer and told him your theory. He said "that's a good theory" and that he would send a tech out. 3 days later I called because no one had showed up and he said he had another board ordered and it wouldn't be here until next Tuesday or so. They claim this is what jacuzzi wants them to do. I'm sick of it. This makes the third time they have "ordered a board". Techs were just here - they switched the black and red wires on the main pump Spa God - you da man. Let's hope this is the fix I've been waiting for.

  12. I went out when it was running a filter cycle and sure enough, when I pressed the pump 1 button it went to low. Temp is up to 112 now, going to start adding potatoes and carrots soon.
