  1. Cal J502.. We use it mostly weekends. We normally turn the temperature to 80 until we use it, (It usually goes down to around 96) and then we heat it up to 100.. Once it gets to 100, we turn the jets on, and twice it has given an flashing OH (overheat) error code. Then if I turn off and on the breaker, it gives me a SN code. (service). I then turn it off, and after it cools off for a while, it then works normal. It has happened twice at night. During the day it seems to work well. I'm thinking sensor, but then it should break down everytime it hits 100. I noticed the water was just over the filter, I wonder it was too low. Any ideas?? Thanks...
  2. Thanks Roger... I've already left, but I'll ask my neighbor to add the baking soda. I'll let you know what happens.
  3. Just did 2 tests. Strip test showed zero alkalinity, while PH looked a little higher than 6.8. The drop test, showed no color (clear) on bromine, and around 6.8 on PH. The iron out was used on a recommendation from a pool place. (Not sure how much iron was there, but it was high in sulfur). The problem, is I'm leaving tomorrow for a week, and Am not sure if I should add any more chemicals at this time.
  4. Newbie here... Spa is working fine, but cannot bring PH up or Bromine to an ideal level. Filled up spa on Friday with well water. Used iron out first and PH up (2 oz). Also put 2 bromine tablets. Saturday's test showed around 6.8 on PH, and no color on bromine test. Added more pH up, and now also added Go Bromine to no avail. So far I used 14oz of PH up but still the same. Local pool place says that I added too much, and Am getting false test. What should I do?? Thanks for replies..
  5. Thanks for the replies... I did buy the J-502, and Am very satisfied with it. Although, had a couple problems starting it up, right now it seems to work fine, except for one thing. This spa has a 24 hour circulating pump, but it turns itself off after we use it. I'm not sure if that's suppose to happen. We have to turn it on manually all the time. Is the pump meant to be on all the time?? Thanks..
  6. Close to buying a Cal Spa j502. Its a small spa for 4 people and the wife likes it alot. My question is: This spa is only 34" high, while most of the spas on their site are 39.5". Is there a possibility of flooding the patio when 4 people are using it?? Thanks for the replies..
  7. The two nearby dealers are LA spas and Vita. We were not satisfied with any of their spas. Like I said, Cal and Jacuzzi seem to have a line more towards our liking. The two models seem to be identical with the Cal having an extra jet. I like to know, if anybody detects any major difference between these two models. (Jacuzzi J-325 and Cal J502). Thanks.
  8. Just put a small deposit on a CAL spa model J502. It seems to be exactly like the Jacuzzi J-325. Can anyone tell me if there's any significant difference"?? I can still back off the contract, but it was on the floor, and available immediately. Thanks...
  9. My question is.. Only 2 dealers (LA spas and Vita) are about 45 minutes from my house. We're looking at Hotspring and Jacuzzi which are 2 hours away. Both have said they will charge a fee (apprx $75) to come out. Is it worth to look at these dealers?? From what I have read, Guzz would charge $300, which I can see his point, but, if I buy it, I would ask in writing for the quotes. My wife seems to like the Jacuzzi J-325, so we'll be wet testing that one.
