New House With Hot Tub - Clueless!

Hey everybody,

So we've moved in to a new house (UK) and there was a hot tub installed. There is no manual left behind for us to use, although we seem to have all of the chemicals we need to do a job.

We filled the spa up and sorted the water out from guides online, however we have noticed there a problem.

The tub runs fine for say 5 minutes, but we then get an FLO error message and it cuts out. It then starts up again if we manually turn the jets on and off. We checked online and tried to "bleed" the pipes for trapped air but to no avail.

Trouble is, we have no idea about what we're looking at when opening up the side of the tub. I've attached images to try and help.

So here I figure that these two are "motors". I've tried bleeding these two with the white nut on top of the pipe going in. Water came out, I let run for a minute or so just to make sure before tightening it back up. However, from the next picture there is a third "motor" that we are unsure what it is. We have not bled this one as the nut is black.

I'm afraid you may need to check with a local dealer for diagnosis, or even the manufacturer. Its very difficult to diagnose here, but just for kicks and giggles lets assume that "FLO" error code means that there is insufficient water flow through the heater. I will also assume here (which is risky, so keep that in mind!) that you have two jet pumps and a circulation pump. Does that sound correct? I'm making lots of risky assumptions here...

So all those assumptions lead me to suggest that the "motor" or pump you are interested in, is the one that supplies water through to heater. I may be way off here, to assume that you have a separate circulation pump with 2 jet pumps, but if this is correct, then the circ pump will be smaller than the other two pumps. Typically "separate circ pumps" do run all the time. Anyway, if I'm at all on the right track here, Its the circ pump that you want to check out. it could be worn or not working at all. and air lock suggest a faulty design ... or a fault in the plumbing.

On the other hand, does your tub heat and maintain water temperature just fine when you are not using it? Can you can verify that your circulation pump is working (by putting your hand over the heater outlet). When you say the tub "cuts out" do you mean that your problem is that the jets quit working when you are in the tub? that would suggest that the jet pump(s) are starving the circ pump
