  1. Hi. Any old timers here have any tips on a heating issue for this dinosaur? I have a 1989 Hot Springs Spa with no heat. Everything else works fine. No resets have popped out. I pulled the two power cords from the main control unit and was not able to detect 120v from either of them. Not sure if this is normal or not. I'm comfortable testing parts, but really don't know where to begin. Thermistors, T-Stats, Flow Sensors, power, ugh. Would really appreciate a few tips to get me pointed in the right direction. THANKS!
  2. For prosperity in case anyone else stumbles upon this thread, there are two small notches on the retainer ring that you are supposed to stick needle nose pliers into and turn. However, the notches are very shallow, and allow very little turning force. So the pliers kept slipping out of the notches, while eating away at the plastic. My solution was to drill small holes through the retainer ring on opposite sides that matched my needle nose pliers. I was then able to insert the pliers through the holes and this gave me the ability to apply the force needed to unscrew the ring. And one of them took quite a bit of force. I doubt there is another way to remove these if the notches do not work for you. And here is a link to the parts for these old Hot Springs units. They also offer free technical advice if needed. http://www.backyardplus.com/jets-directional-hot-spring-pre-1990.php
  3. Sorry... I'm back. Found a great company that has all the parts I need to replace the two jets that are not working properly. However, I'm having no luck removing the retaining ring, part #8 below. Any tips from the experts? Thanks in advance!
  4. Thanks for the tip! Just to clarify is this ring part either "A" or "B" below, or something deeper not shown? I don't want to break anything if I can help it on this "antique" spa.
  5. Oh yeah, I think the blower works as the two jets with nozzles have bubbles, and the two without do not. I read somewhere that the design of the jet is what mixes the air and water. Figuring since my jets are gone the mixing can't happen. Also, I'm not even sure I have a blower...
  6. Thank you very much dg98adams! I was able to build a tool to get the front wall fitting off, but now I'm confused again. lol. I think I might be seeing from the link you attached above "Nozzle Seat Ring", but I am not sure. Can someone please confirm? If not, how do I remove the rest of the jet nozzle section to replace? I've attached more photos, as a picture says a thousand words or something like that. Broken Nozzle The other broken nozzle Custom Tool (Patent Pending) Control Board for Reference
  7. Hi! Got myself an ancient Prodigy Hot Spring Spa that I need help with. Two of the four jets do not have bubbles, and I'm guessing it is because of the broken/missing jet nozzle things. So first, if I can take the nozzles apart, can I still get replacement parts? Second, if I can get needed parts, any tips on removing the nozzles? I see little inset holes like maybe something could poke and turn, but what would that be? And I'm assuming they are really stuck... Otherwise the spa works great. Pictures 1 and 2 are the broken jests, and 3 and 4 are the working ones for comparison. Thanks for any tips or advice!!!
