  1. to all you non believers about the desjoyaux system- if i had all the money that is spent on repairs in just one year from all the conventional pools built in arkansas, i wouldnt ever have to work again in my lifetime- i have remodeled pools that are only a few years old and its mostly because of poor building techniques. you(chem geek) seem to be fairly knowledgable on pools and i appreciate your input on things. the issue with circulation is pointless, 120 gpm per minute at 2.3 amps is better than any pump made - i have customers with conventional pools that spend over 100 dollars a month and some much more than that just for electric use- as far as needing a pool cleaner ,i would recommend one for anyone who has a pool -i use the dolphin or aquabot that runs off electric - since our pools dont need any pressure or suction ports we dont use the polaris. i guess if you found 2 problems (both seem customer related) with the desjoyaux pools worldwide compared with the thousands of conventional pool problems just on this site,id say that is pretty good wouldnt you- a standard 2 speed desjoyaux pool pump on our pools will take care of a 20 x40 pool easily- if its gets bigger than that we just add another filter unit- and i can still run a third pump and not use as much electric as a standard conventional pool pump of equal hp. my customers (and believe me ive asked them dont even know our pool is on their bill- you can spout all the #'s about electric costs in arkansas but you dont have a clue what you are talking about when it comes to the desjoyaux system. we do clean our bags out once a week but with a typical sand sytem you backflush at least that much and dump your waste into the environment- plus your chemicals- at least we can change bags in a matter of minutes -can you do that with sand and cartridge(what about costs? theres good and bad in everything made- i just choose the best to sell(desjoyaux)
  2. WHAT A DEAL- REPAIR SOMETHING FOR FREE AND STILL MAKE MONEY-WHAT ABOUT THE INCONVENIENCE FOR YOU AND CUSTOMER SERVICE-SO MUCH FOR THAT- POOL BUILDERS SEEM TO BE SOME OF THE BEST CONMEN GOING- MAYBE ITS JUST WE ARE EXPECTING TOO MUCH IE GOOD JOB-GOOD SERVICE-LASTING PRODUCT- I GUESS ITS BEST TO SET YOUR EXPECTATIONS LOW AND THEN YOU'RE SURE NOT TO BE DISAPPOINTED.
  3. hello , as a pool builder i can see your anxiety and i have seen other pool builders that have no regard for anyoneone property but i think you should focus on the technical aspects at this time and make sure you get exactly what you pay for if not more and that includes the way the structure is built, the concrete work and warranties, the plumbing and stuff like that - the yard can and will be corrected after the pool is built but if that pool isnt built to perform at peak levels and meant to last a very long time (no cutting of corners) then you may run into trouble down the road- you as a customer need to know these things- knowledge is the key in preventing trouble and even though your builder may be awesome most dont tell ya all ya ned to know-
  4. i am a pool builder and i do own desjoyaux pools of arkansas- and the system i use is Green Smart not echo smart- sorry i didnt let everyone in on that, as i am new to the site - i havent noted a significant increase in ph with the g/s system at all- with our hardness between 200-400 alkalinity about 100 and ph at 7 the system maintains itself very well-(the rain we had most of last year did play havoc with most everyones pool tho- i did have one pool where the iron came out of solution and stained the steps a tiny bit but that was when i used the echo smart and not the green smart. with the g/s there is not testing of metals-the mineral egg we use takes care of that and works together with the oxidation process of the titanium coated plates and all we have is a nice fresh pool water that is near drinking level. the desjoyaux system is great for this sanitation method . the filters need cleaned once a week on average depending on pool use- with Desjoyaux we push a green system and its even more true by using the green smart system- it may not be for everyone tho but i was just lettin all know who read this that there are options instead of salt or chlorine. look forward to reading more inputs and opinions and hopefull you all can teach me some things.
  5. as for the using a salt gen /not only do they have a short life span(cell) & energy gobblers what benefit do you get from them? you still have a chlorine pool plus look at the destruction salt and chlorine does to a pool not to mention your body- look it up -all the harm caused by salt and chlorine- do your research-there are more options available than these antiquated systems- as far as the green smart- no its not epa approved for public pools but then again i wouldnt let my kids swim in a public pool- you might as well swim in your septic tank in some cases. your private pool doesnt need a concentrated amount of bacteria killing agents and generally unless your kids poops in the pool it will not be exposed to concentrated bacteria. if algea cant grow in an environment the your pool will maintain itself more consistently. with the mineral technology of the green smart along with the oxidation of the titanium plates bacteria and algea dont have a chance- ph must be maintained tho as with any pool along with alkalinity and hardness. a pool is not a set it and forget it deal- it needs attention and care -and one thing i do like about the g/s sys is the low cost of operation -couple dollars a month/ and my customers average 25-30.00 a summer on other chemicals-ph up/down/alakalinity increaser /decreaser/ (clarifier/algeacide(a capful a week on both these)but my pools are desjoyaux-no sand filter -no underground plumbing /no backflushing and about 10.00 a monthe operating costs.
