  1. Yes I sell Arctic. The Fox is a great model, and it is probably our top seller. Nice features, good depth to it, fits the bill for a two person spa. Great warranty, and very energy efficient. You can get the Fox in two different ways. 1 pump 14 jets, and 2 pumps 24 jets. We sell lots of both models. Where are you located? I wonder if I know your dealer. Good luck in your search.
  2. Even though you can't get the original ones anymore, there should be a replacement cover that is compliant that will fit like the old ones. I would contact Artesian directly first, and if you don't have any luck there, then check with Pentair.
  3. It goes inside the active skim filter weir above the small pleated filter. You take the weir out, and you have to reach up into the tube to take out the threaded strainer. Lefty loosey, righty tighty! Once you get that out, them the filter rescue bag just thread into the threads on the weir. Its hard to describe, but it is quite easy. Just take the weir out, take out the black round threaded strainer, and thread in the bag, and you are good to go.
  4. Many of the issues were related to the Onzen system. Lots of times too it is due to a poor dealer not taking care of the customer and their issues. Arctic Spas builds a fine product, and makes one of the better spas out there. Many of the issues with the Onzen system were when it was brand new, and the kinks were still getting worked out. Like you said though, you don't have to get that system on the spa if you don't want to. I saw you mentioned you are looking in Quebec. Is the dealer that sells Arctic Spas called Club Spa? If so, I know the owner and the management of that store personally, and they are a great dealer. In fact, they were one of Arctic Spas first dealers back in the day. They are one of Arctic Spas top dealers, and have won many awards over the years, so I know you would get great service from them. Also, I love the Arctic Summit spa. IMO, it is the most comfortable spa that Arctic Spas makes, so you are looking at a nice one. You can get it in multiple jetting and pump options as well to get it exactly how you want it. Good luck in your search for the perfect spa, and if you have any more questions in regards to Arctic Spas, please let me know, and I'll be glad to help.
  5.    It's not a big deal, but he is incorrect in when he says that Arctic buries some of the jets and plumbing in foam. That is not true. Arctic does foam tack down some of the manifolds and bigger hoses in certain areas, but none of the jets are plumbing or manifolds are buried in foam what so ever. You can get to all those without having to remove foam to get to it.
  6. That is a great review and thanks for sharing. I'm glad to hear you have had a good experience with Arctic Spas. IMO, the Summit is the most comfortable spa that Arctic Spas makes!
  7. I would look at Arctic Spas, and specifically the Arctic Tundra. It is 8x8 so it will seat the number of people you are looking for. That spa won a award for Arctic Spas when it was first built due to how the seats are arranged. You can fit taller people like yourself in a very deep seat. It also has shallower seats for your wife and kids. Has a huge footwell in it so lots of room for every ones feet. I also love the power of the big orca jet for feet and lower back. It is a very popular model for us, and should fit every criteria you mentioned. There is a award winning Arctic dealer in PA, but im not sure exactly where you are located. But, you can do a dealer locator on Arctic Spas website as well. If that tub is maybe too big, you might also check out the Arctic Yukon in the 7 ft size. Other good reputable brands that you will often see mentioned by many are Jacuzzi, Sundance, Hotspring, Marquis, and Dimension One. I agree with what the others said about wet testing, if you can. If not, then at least sit in the tubs dry if possible. Also, do your research on your local dealers. I can't stress enough how important it is to buy from a good local reputable dealer. Someone who has been in business for a while, and that will be there for you after the purchase when needed. Good luck in your search!
  8. Lol on the delorean reference!! I'm not sure either. You may have something wrong with the pump one low speed capacitor, but it must be random. Just call your dealer and let them look at it and repair it. It has a five year warranty. I'm glad you were at least able to keep it running and keep it from freezing.
  9. I'm not sure what you have going on. But, if it says gft after you did the test when you press pump one, that most likely means it was pump one causing it to trip and that it why it says gft. But, I'm not sure how it heated up if pump one wasn't working right. At least now you can keep it running to keep it from freezing until your dealer looks at it.
  10. If your spa is only 6 months old, and it will run for five minutes., you can do the ground fault test to see what is tripping the breaker. Then you can disable the device causing the spa to trip, so you can still run it until your dealer can get out to fix it. You can read the directions here of how to do it. http://www.arcticspas.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Global-Pak-Ground-Fault-Test-Info.pdf Also, here is a short video to show you how to do it. Keep in mind, if the spa is tripping right away you won't be able to so this. But, if it runs for a few minutes before tripping, this should work. Good luck.
  11. It won't hurt anything to leave it until they fix it.
  12. Does the breaker trip instantly when you power it on? If so, I am guessing The electrician possibly wired the breaker wrong. I know often times they have the load neutral in the wrong spot, and it will trip instantly. I wouldn't go messing with that though just to be safe. I know you want it for Chritmas, but I would just wait for the dealer/electrician to fix it. But, I would check the load neutral first on the breaker. It could be possible the breaker is bad already. Unlikely, but can happen. If the beaker is working properly, and installed properly, then something at the spa is not right. Sorry I wasn't much help. Here is a better description of what I was trying to say. GFCI Tripping Due to Miswired Neutral The most common wiring mistake occurs with 4-wire systems. Unfortunately, that even a few professional electricians sometimes get a flunking grade on this one: The white neutral wire to the spa's control box must be attached (as shown in our 4-wire diagrams above) directly to the neutral terminal of the GFCI breaker, NOT TO THE SUB-PANEL GROUNDING BAR. Mis-wiring it to ground instantly trips the GFCI when energized, cutting power to the hot tub. http://www.spadepot.com/spacyclopedia/wiring-hot-tub-spa.htm
  13. Good deal! Glad to hear it is working good again!
  14. There could be something wrong with the pump itself, but I would check a few simple things first. Make sure your water isn't too low. Even if you think it isn't too low, maybe add a little bit of water to the spa. If the water gets too low, it can cause surging at the filter canister, which will cause the pump to cavitate and cause the pulsation you are describing as well. When the water gets topped off, it should stop that if the water was too low. Also, clean/and or replace your filter if it has been a while since you have done either of those. Check those things and report back if that doesn't.
  15. That is the most up to date software. I emailed Arctic again, and here was their reply, Can you ask him to send screen shots of what power management settings he is trying to set - we will try and recreate the issue, and get it fixed. You can email those to Dave--dave@goarctic.com
