  1. Anyone have a fix other than replacement. Is there a flat black paint out there that can handle the heat and chems. Krylon Paint says not in their line
  2. Many Thanks Dr.Spa I'll reel myself in on the price a bit. haven't worked since 06 (hit head on by dd after late nite service call) alot rusty. I actually used this spa for a couple of mths and for what it is it's a good solid reliable entry level spa.
  3. try this. page 33. have you had the spa running or is it the first time starting it up? if so the gfci is not wired correctly. white wire has to go into breaker then pigtail to neutral bar. if white goes straight to neutral bar breaker will trip http://www.sundancespas.com/Communications...0.850Manual.pdf
  4. hey Chris did you buy your spa new or used? if new call your dealer and have them educate you on spa maintanance. should have been part of delivery and set up filters will generally last up to 2 years depending on bather load i would recomend buying a second set of filters so you can rotate filters. filters should be cleaned once a week using the pressure from a garden hose. open the pleats with your thumb to remove all the nasties between them. they should also soak in a filter wash solution periodically for a deep cleaning. if you bought used many independent spa service techs offer weekly, monthly, tri monthly maintenance programs. you may want to have a tech come out and educate you on how to maintain water chemistry and proper cleaning techniques. also you should read any manuals you recieved with the spa. you are now at the 3 month mark it's time to change out your water, clean shell, cover and if needed jet and plumbing internals. there are products available that you can use prior to draining spa. pour in and run spa without filters for an hour or two to clean out jet and plumbing internals. drain, rinse and refill. use a protectant on cover after cleaning. a clean spa is a happy and inviting spa. enjoy
  5. sl= sleep mode temp will drop 20 deg below set temp and maintian. if temp is set at 100 deg heater will not come on until spa temp reaches 80 deg then maintain 80 eg. use if going on vacation st= standard mode will maintain set temp ec= econo mode spa will only heat to set temp during the filter cycle if set at f2 heater will run 2 hours out of every 12 hour period. if filter cycle starts at 8 am spa will heat from 8am til 10 am and won't come on again until 8pm.so if you get home at 5 and want to go in spa temp might be a few degrees below desired temp.to set time to start filter cycle shut off breaker and restart spa at desired time. if you use spa at 5pm everyday reset breaker at 4:30. remember spa will run next filter cycle at 4:30 am noise may be a concern for you or your neighbours depending where spa is located f2 (most spas normal bather load)=spa will filter water 2 hours out of every 12 hour period. 4 hours out of every 24 hour period f4= spa will filter for 4 hours out of 12 hour period. 8 out of 24. f6=6 out of 12 12 out of 24 0
  6. several possible causes. you have owned it for 3 months have you cleaned your filters yet? reset without filter soak and clean filter . is there a blockage anywhere in the system blocking water flow? closed trap. from there you are into faulty temp probes or spa pack call for warranty service. 95% dirty filters
  7. if you are going to all the work i suggest you upgrade and wire the spa for 220v if possible. your spa will heat faster . it will cost a bit more to set up but won't notice much difference on a monthly cost basis. waiting for a 110v spa to heat up to desired temp and maintain temp really sucks. i need my spa and i want it now!
  8. I think your spa has a gecko spa pack. try this link. http://www.metapacks.com/pdf_troub/sw_man.pdf
  9. do you know how to operate a volt meter? if so we can procede with some advice if not i recomend you support your local service tech. gfci may be wired wrong. heater element might be damaged etc.
  10. make sure the leak is really coming from the bottom of spa water travels. unless you can actually see where it is leaking underneath draining and turning the spa on its side will make it hard to find the leak without water in the spa. here is one way to do it. you will need 5 jack stands and a floor jack. drain spa then place 1 stand under each corner and 1 under the footwell. refill spa find leak. remove any foam, drain spa and repair as required. refill on stands to make sure leak is fixed,(optional) drain and lower. if spa has pvc bottom remove staples along sides at bottom of spa fold edges flat then start jacking on top of pvc bottom leaving bottom in place on ground and place jacks on pvc so when you lower spa after repair the bottom is in position and will only need minor adjustments to replace in factory location. go easy remoing staples as you want to put them back in the same holes they came out of if possible. if done properly it is a one man job. if it is a full foam spa pay someone else to do it...good luck
  11. >>Are they saying that their standard cover is 6 inches thick? I doubt it. 6in-4in covers are avail standard by some manufacturers your thermospa salesman likes to pick choose and compare from mutipul "competitors" to suit his needs. put his claims up against a specific make and model and see how he does. most internal workings of spas come from outside vendors, pumps, packs, jets etc if you look carefully you will find alot of the same internals in alot of spas. have you wet tested a theromspa? how do you know it fits you and your lifestyle. what will you do after you sign on the dotted line what are the future costs. trip fees, chems, replacement covers, filters, ozone etc. think of the future you should own it for a long long time. find a reputable dealer talk to the service dept and or a local independant tech they have seen them all. you are not only investing in a spa but also the dealer/ manufacturer that you purchase from. ><and that it can be home to rodents: only if the salesman moves in (sorry couldn't resist)
  12. 104 is max default on all spas you could switch to 230v hook up. the heater operates at 1500w/115v or 6000w/230v
  13. there is a 1999 manitou encore on the South Bend craigslist for $1500 with a link to www.thetubhouse but access was forbidden. because it is a little older spa you might want to ask a local independent spa tech to take a look at it and also educate you on how to operate and maintain assuming you have never owned a spa.
