  1. Brenda, my pool has been completed for 1 1/2 years now and I am STILL happy w/ it. I am SHOCKED that after this long (and longer) Mike is still bellyaching....... I want everyone to know that yes, wavetec has flaws, but my pools is just fine, completed and still no peoblems.
  2. I am sorry to hear about all your problems..... Where in Texas are you?
  3. WaveTec uses Foxx Pools, an in ground, vinyl liner pool. I have one and it's doing fine. There have been many complaints about Wavetec on this site though, so be careful. A hole is dug just as if you were to get a gunite or cement pool. Then they put up the frame which is made with the "X Brace" technology.....The walls and frame work are galvanized steel guaranteed not to corrode. Then a bottom is poured out of "poolcrete" which is a type of cement. Then the liner is fitted and the deck is poured. Can't remember when the plumbing is done...... I went with the vinyl liner as my soil is heavy with clay and was advised before I got my pool that due to earth shifting, cracks could (and eventually would) start damaging the cement or gunnite and the steel walls were guaranteed to resist ground shifting. If all of the contractors w/ Wavetec were as good as mine, I think there would be so many fewer complaints, but some have not been so lucky..... It seems kind of like a dice toss, unfortunately......
  4. I have an inground vinyl liner pool and the liner can get very slippery in spots. Our stairs are made of textured fiberglass. Don't know if that is of interest to you or not, but thought I'd throw it out there....
  5. Thank you for letting me know that..... Makes me feel better. There is acompany here is Ft Worth that works on (and builds, for that matter) vinyl liner pools. Seahorse Pools in case anyone needs this information. The thing I am curious about in the whole grand scheme of things is why Foxx Pools keeps letting Wavetec bulid their product. Seems like this could give not only Wavetec a bad name, but Foxx Pools also and ruin their good reputation......
  6. a guy named Mike Germano (and his crew) did mine and so far I haven't had any real problems....The filter and the Nature 2 both work great. I didn't get a spa, just the pool. I really love the way the liner feels (much better than cement) and don't have any cracks in my decking..... but after hearing that Wavetec is still having so many serious complaints, I am starting to wonder how long until I start having problems. I will say this, though... Mr Germano gave us his personal number and th few minor problems we did have were addressed in a very timely manner...
  7. How long (after pool was finished) before you started having problems? I have had mine for 9 months and so far so good..... Are you in Texas? I haven't heard of any real problems in my area (DFW)
  8. Do you use Fox Pools? I have heard that Fox is a great product so I went w/ that type, but the company that installed mine has had some problems....
  9. Did Wavetec ever fix your problem? I called Fox Pools today and they advised me that they have made several visits to Wavetec to help iron out the problems and do more in depth training.... I hope the issues have been resloved as your back yard in phenomenal......
  10. Are you saying the steel walls could rust? The company we dealt w/ said that the steel walls are galvanized and should never rust.... I hope that's the case because right now, the pool looks good and I would like to think it will stay that way.... Water balance seems very easy with the vinyl liner inground pool.....
  11. I had the Premiere Pool put in (14 X 28) and it is an ingound vinyl liner sport pool. I don't know what is going on in ElPaso, but in this area (DFW), everyone seems ok w/ their pools, at least from what I've read. We chose the liner pool due to the heavy clay content in our soil and the possibility of gunite cracking. The X Brace system is supposed to be stronger so there is less soil shift damage. I will no longer read or respond to Mike in El Paso, since he seems to want to take his anger out at those of us that have had no real problems (like it's our fault) It's ok for him to give his opinion, but not ok for others w/ few or no problems to? You should have both sides, but as my husband said, there are always going to be happy AND unhappy customers. If you are very concerned but want to get this pool, you may want to make it a condition of your contract that Mike Germano be your guy, since I had such good luck w/ him and his crew. Of course, I cannot guarantee anything, just give you my experience...... And I actually have been a member of this forum since July of last year, I just don't have time to get in here all the time.... Please let me know if you would like to see the pool, I would be happy to show you, My email address is dbuscho@yahoo.com
  12. I already DID refinance (in February) and I had no trouble at all...if you don't believe that, I will be happy to provide my loan officers name, address and phone number to you. I have always been pleasant and civil on the site and I expect the same treatment from others in return. I am just voicing MY opinion. I am not saying you did not experience a bad time..... I wish you were in the DFW area, then maybe you would have had a better experience. But I am not going to verbally beat up on you as you have on all of us for so long. I would be happy to give your name and any other information to Mike Germano and maybe he can help?
  13. I live in Ft Worth and Wavetec did my pol, also. I am very happy with it (Just wish they had more liner patterns to choose from....) Mike Germano and his crew built my pool and he was very professional and had it done quickly. Like I have posted in the past, the only real complaint I had was waiting from the time the contract was signed until the building started. Then when you start reading these posts, in CAN freak you out. My pool looks good, feels great and does not leak or have any problems. Mike even came out and replaced a faulty screw for me! It is relatively low maintenence and we are really enjoying it. I know there are some bullies on this site that claim that we that are happy must work for Wavetec, but they could very well be working for the competition and wanting to drive business THEIR way (cuts both ways) We have a Nature 2 system and it works well......
  14. Please call Wavetec and ask them to send Mike Germano out.... I promise, he is great and it should be done in no time.... He did mine (I live in Ft Worth) and did a GREAT job!
  15. Mike, I am sorry you are having so many problems.... Please read my post again.... I was not w/out problems, trust me! I wouldn't be telling someone to hire an attorney if I was an employee.... As a matter of fact, until wavetec introduced me to Marianne, I was irate and extremely frustrated w/ this whole experience.... A few months ago (before PoolSearch changed their format) there were some other good references and I didn't believe either, but now that I've had some decent treatment and my pool is done, I can say these things.... I think the whole process from the time you contact wavetec until they finally start your pool is RIDICULOUS , since it should NEVER take that long, so I DO have my issues w/ them. I hope anyone that is having problems takes my advice and reports any contractors that are incompetent and also tries calling Marianne to see if she can help. I make no promises, but it is worth a shot.... Worked for me.
