I have a 2000's great lakes spa with Balboa Circuit board 51421. I had a leak from one of the split couplings (one going into the heater pipe). In the process of repairing the leak, I lost some water (about 1/4" in the tub) & it alternately sprayed & poured around the electrical box and on the pump for 30 seconds or so before I got the leak stopped. The water is still above the skimmer.
Note: before this, tub was working (blower, jets, heater, etc.) perfectly, except for the leak, which started about 6 months after repairman replaced my heater element.
Anyway, I checked inside the electrical box and it was dry. I pulled off the side covers of the tub and let it air dry for a day. I turned on the tub and got an error "OH." This was followed by a popping sound. The GFCI didn't trip but I turned it off immediately.
I checked the circuit board and found no signs of a blown fuse or burn marks, etc.. I turned on the GFCI again and this time heard a buzzing noise from inside the so I shut off the GFCI.
I read in vain through various posts on the internet about what this might be. I did find one board where someone had similar problem & repairman told him to pull out filter & try again and this solved guys problem.
So I pulled filter out - it's dirty. So I think maybe this is it. Well, I turned on breaker again...got OH code again, immediate buzz then two seconds later a pop and I quickly flipped off the breaker.
I looked at circuit card again and now I see burn marks above one of the relays...
Don't want to get electrocuted so no more turning it on, for now.
