  1. My pool builder quoted $500. They're not a licensed installer though. They went over the install with endless pools and it seemed easy enough, but ultimately they suggestedted that I go with a licensed installer. They contacted one for me and set up the meeting. This guy had installed several. He quoted me $875. The pool builder told me that he told him something like $1400 over the phone, but when he came to the house and saw it in person I guess he was able to give a better quote. Having been a part of the entire process except every step except for the last one, I can tell you it didn't seem complicated at all. My pool builder could have probably easily done it, and for a lot less. With a licensed installer, you're paying for experience, literally. He barely supplied $50 worth of material and spent a total of 20 hours on the project (granted that a lot of that time was spent waiting on the pool builder to finish a step, for example he was there almost the whole time the gunite was being shot to make sure the pieces for the endless pools were in there correctly). End product is amazing. Pool is done. Fastlane works awesome! I will post pics of it all this weekend. Casimo
  2. I don't have any experience with tethers or harnesses, but I can second MrSundance's comment about Endless Pools units. I tried one out before I bought one, and it was very smooth. I was very impressed. I bought the Fastlane and am having it installed in my new pool that should be done by this weekend. I'll let you how it turns out.
  3. Hello everyone, I just wanted to post some comments about Precision Pools in Houston, TX. They started construction on our pool just a little over 3 weeks ago, and they said that we would be able to go swimming by this weekend! We have had nothing but a good experience with them. They have been extremely professional and accomodating. This is especially important since we have had to do quite a bit of work on our own with our own contractors (ie. electrical reroute, gas plumbing reroute, Endless Pools Fastlane installation). Every step of the way they have kept us informed of the work that was about to take place and the timing of it. They made sure that we were given plenty of time to contact our contractors that were working on these other projects so we didn't have guys working on top of each other. They even provided the conduit and wiring for the Fastlane unit at no additional cost even though it wasn't in their scope of work. They would have made the actual electrical connection, but the Endless Pools contractor has been a nightmare to deal with and communication between him has been somewhat painful to say the least, but that's a story for another thread. I plan to post some pictures of the entire pool project on another thread. But for now, I just wanted to post a quick note letting everyone know that these guys have been excellent!! I was extremely stressed out before this project began because of all the nightmare stories I read about people picking the wrong pool builder. I know that there are plenty of good pool builders in Houston, but I'm so glad I went with these guys. Don't get me wrong, the process was still somewhat stressful, but that was mainly because of our other contractors. If anyone has any questions, just send me a message and I'll let you know everything I learned in this process. Casimo
  4. Thanks HTA. Although, I am installing an actual Endless Pools Fastlane unit. The Fastlane is the unit that Endless Pools sells to be installed in either an existing pool or a new construction conventional inground pool. I have heard of other "swim jets" and it sounded like they weren't as effective. They key difference is the flow of water from the Fastlane is very large and also laminar, where the flow from "jets" would be not as strong and most likely turbulent. I took a test swim in an Endless Pool in my area and was very impressed with the performance. When I talked to Platinum Pools, it sounded like they have installed those units on other conventional pools, so that's a plus for them. However, I have also heard some horror stories about them.
  5. I am about to start the process of building a pool in my back yard. I've contacted several pool builders and have scheduled appointments for them to come over and talk about design & budget. The only one feature that is a must have for me is the Endless Pools Fastlane. Does anyone have any experience with this in a conventional inground pool? Also, I live in the Houston area and have contacted Houston Cool Pools, Platinum Pools, Marquise Pools, and some others. Does anyone have any experience with any of these pool builders? Casimo
