  1. ............might be a good idea to clean the filter every couple days until things clear up too. If you've used any clarifiers, or foam cutters, that stuff will coagulate in the filter and need to be cleaned out.
  2. Based on what I have learned here, and being a new owner in the past month, I would suggest that you would TEST your water and be sure that the sanitizer level is adequet for a minimum of 24 hours. From what I have been reading, Clear Water is not indicative of healthy water. Shock the Spa, or super chlorinate, and by the time the levels come back to "normal" it should be about 24 hours, or possibly longer, and you should be "safe" and the water will probably be in the clear. Let someone like waterbear confirm this, but my educated guess would lead me to believe that this is the case. Run1stRide2nd. Run 1st is correct YIPEEE! What do I win Bob?

  4. Shawn, I have a Caldera Niagara, 2008. I called the factory, and the remote is compatible with the 2007 and 2008 models. Part number for the remote is 74419. I called my dealer, and they don't even have a price yet, but should have it for me next week. The tech told me that there is a chip set that gets installed on the Advent Controller to make it work. Range is about 100' and you can pretty much control all of the panel functions. They did not confirm if you/I can override the spa-lock, but should know next week. If this thing isn't too outrageously priced, I think I want to add one to the other remotes that I have on the counter . Seems like a great way to start the pumps up and "superheat" the spa before going outside........I like it hotter than everyone else in the family. Hope that helps. Run1stride2nd.
  5. ........although, I'm a neat freak, and keep my lawn manicured, and perfect year around, I also had one of those annoying intrusive neighbors (operative word is HAD). I decided that I finally had enough, and decided to piss her off, and she won't even look my way anymore. Its been a great 8 months.......don't let anyone push you around. Its one thing to be a nice neighbor and accomodate, but its another thing when they make unreasonable requests. Have a great day, and soak off the stress later.
  6. So I totally screwed up the photobucket link and forum edit. Hopefully this posts correctly this time. Run1stride2nd. For some reason, I can't get it right, but the "orginal" edit at the top of this post seems to work. Sorry , I'm forum challenged.

  8. Congrats. As far as the Frog goes, give it a try and if its less than stellar after your supply is depleted you can always switch to a simple chlorine approach. Congrats Jackva1. I just received my Caldera Niagara last Wednesday, and I'm located in Virginia too. Enjoying the heck out of this thing, we've been in the tub every night since last Thursday!! The warm weather, although real nice, I can't wait for this weekend when the cold weather returns. FYI, I'm on the southside of the river from Richmond, where are you? Run1stRide2nd
  9. Champagne Opal, Redwood sides. I too had difficulty with the filter at first, but it was totally user error. Press down the filter to go over the standpipe at the bottom. Take the filter basket/skimmer assembly and position the 2 "lines" on the lower ring at 12:00-6:00. Press down and turn, and it WILL click into position. Only takes about 1/2 turn. I was being too delicate with our new tub. Even went back up to my local store (excellent people by the way), and had him show me on a wet tub, and dry tub. Turns out the water resistance was enough to make a difference in what it "felt" like getting the ring in place. I shopped with several retailers, and tested tubs at friends homes which helped me narrow down to 2 tubs that I liked. The other was the D1 chairman II which was also nice, but my wife floated a bit in the lounger, and ultimately we decided against the lounger since the Caldera Niagara has that nice combo seat at the right corner from the Aux panel. SO, this retailer is about 8 miles from home, seem like great "relationship" people and their service tech has been on board for several years, and has a great easy to work with personality. Anyway, sorry to ramble, hope the suggestion on the skimmer basket/filter works for you. If in doubt, and you have access to your local store, just stop by and have them show you and let you try as well. The problem is only when I have the frog floating in the filter compartment....sometimes it floats up to the top and makes it unlock. The frog is too hard to get in the filter on top of the standpipe...you don't have to deal with that, I guess that's why they fixed it for this year! Aaah, I see. The inline frog system "should" fix that issue long term.

  12. Based on what I see from the 2007 model, they added an inline Frog system that's just to the left of the main control panel, and thats about it. The waterfall looks like individual "points" of water illuminated from the underside which makes for a nice effect. I'm waiting for my deck guy to finish the privacy "lattice" work around the upper level where the spa is located. Once thats done (hopefully this weekend), I'll attempt to post some pictures if I can figure that out. We've had this huge deck just off our screened porch for a few years, and realized that it never gets used, too hot in the summer, and too cold in the winter!! So, we decided to make the deck more of a backyard retreat. Finished "eliminating" some of the squirrels that were chewing anything attached to my home, and we're settled into the new tub. Also, my squirrel hunting skills have improved over the past few weeks!
  13. Attached are pictures with the deck work completed. Pictures show BEFORE and AFTER PICTURES: Here's the link to photo bucket. First time using photobucket, hope it works right. Thanks everyone for checking it out. Doesn't look like I had it right, lets try this link: http://s251.photobucket.com/albums/gg287/r...nt=59aaa071.pbw
