  1. Thanks for the info. I don't have a ozonator. I have no issues against Chlorine, I was always told bromine is better for your health and all that jazz. I have seen many good reviews on the Nature2 system and the Spa Frog system. Is that better option? or not so good for heavy use? The Brilliance system hasn't been bad but a few times last year I had issues maintaining water clarity and keeping my PH in balance. I just would end up dumping the water and starting over.
  2. Is there any other "Brilliance for Spa" chemical users out there and what are your opinions on it? I started using it because of a recommendation from a friend. I'm fairly new to Spa ownership and I want to use the best. We are fairly heavy spa users. 4 to 5 times a week. Just wanted to make sure I'm not wasting time and money if there is something better out there.
  3. got it. Put the Jumper on J43 and did a factory reset. It's now working and heating properly.
  4. I am having issues with my Balboa 2000LE system. For some reason when I power it up the pr shows on the screen and it starts priming using pump 1. The issue is that after Pump 1 is finished priming, Pump 2 seems to be cycling every 2 seconds also and never stops. The Pump 2 dip switch is turned off because I only have one pump. It still cycles the relay and The red LED by the Jets 2 button cycles on and off also. The system doesn't show a temperature just --F and it continues to cycle. It's almost like someone is pushing the Jets 2 button on and off. I have tried everything to get it to quit but no luck. It's ran for 20 minutes like this before I finally shut it off. It's almost like it's stuck in priming mode but it's using pump 2. The controller seems to respond to all other buttons but not the Jets 2 button. Anyone have any ideas what it could be or can I just unplug the controller to see if the topside controller is bad? Will the 2000LE unit run on it's own without a controller?
  5. Just an update. I took a hair dryer to the boards and let a box fan run for a few hours. I turned the breaker on and everything started working except the heater wouldn't come on. So after some testing of the pressure switch and other things I decided to mess around with the High Limit temp sensor connector and then the heater started working again. From what I can see the connector on the board for the high temp sensor looks a little corroded. I am starting to wonder now if the problem the entire time was the high temp sensor. Maybe the corrosion caused the issue or maybe that connector got wet?? Temp was reading funny before the cycling started and it did throw an OH code. Don't know for sure but as of this morning everything was still working. Just not sure what caused the pump cycling issues.
  6. Anyone know if the Balboa M1 circuit board can be tested without the controller plugged in?
  7. It's not a new spa. It's around 10 years old. It's new to me. I bought it from a friend. He never had any issues with it and it was working just fine. I looked at the control panel underneath and didn't see any water on it. That was my first thought too. Just didn't know if this control board needs to be reset or something? Just confused by how strange and unresponsive the topside acted right before the cycling issue started.
  8. I'm going to start off by saying I'm new to spa ownership so I'm learning. I just bought and installed a used Great Lakes Spa with a Balboa Digital Duplex M-1 control system. Everything has been working fine and then last night the kids jumped in and started splashing water and had the topside controller soaked. Next thing i knew the topside controller started acting funny and didn't respond. Then it started worked again. The water temp showed 104 but I know the temp was still only at 99. I checked it with a floating thermometer. Then it showed an "OH" code. Shortly after that the pumps shut off on their own. Now after I pushed the jets button the jets came on only for a second and are now cycling on and off every 2 seconds. I shut the breaker off and let it sit for a while. I decided to unplug the topside controller and turn it on. It still immediately starts cycling the pump on and off. I shut it off, plugged the controller back in. It now shows the correct temp on the panel but still starts cycling on and off. I tried pushing the jets button but it doesn't respond and keeps cycling. Any ideas? or is my topside control junk? Aren't the topside panels waterproof?
