  1. I agree with you... It's better to use low speed motors for reducing consumption of electricity, i think they are the same useful.
  2. I agree... Whether you are looking for swimming pool clarifiers or swimming pool liner cleaners, you will find all the pool cleaning chemicals you need at very high price.
  3. Breaking into a slab or pool deck, without positive confirmation of a leak location, is unacceptable. Don’t try to dismantle your pool just to fix the leaks. Fixing a slab leak requires a thorough process with technical expertise, as well as experience.
  4. Use 1 gallon of liquid chlorine for each 10,000 gallons of water in the pool to provide a shock chlorination treatment. Perform a shock treatment of chlorine to your pool once each week.
  5. The reason that the Free Chlorine level failed to rise was probably due to the presence of a film of algae or bacteria on the underwater surfaces. It also explains the unacceptably high difference between the Free and Total Chlorine readings. A maximum of 1 PPM is preferred. The water may have looked clear, but there was a biofilm on the underwater surfaces. That being the case, it is necessary to keep adding shock treatment, until the difference narrows or the water clears up. The cloudy water is the result of the dead algae and debris, as opposed to poor water chemistry.
  6. to me it looks like you had settlement, and the crack put pressure and made it pop or water seeped behind the tile and popped a chunk out, you could probably do a few skim coats of a multi purpose mortar to build you back up and set the tile with also. Need to drain the pool first.
  7. Chlorine pucks are commonly placed in the skimmer. This can and does cause problems in the long term. The pucks or tablets are typically composed of trichlor, which has a pH of around 2.9 . This is very acidic, and can cause corrosion of the metal parts and results in the leaching of the plastics, which eventually become brittle and weakened. The effects on the skimmer basket are pronounced when the pump cycle is low and the water does not flow constantly over the pucks.
  8. What is your line voltage to the motor; 115 or 230? The motors come out of the box at 230 if it is dual voltage and if you are connecting it to a 115 V line, it will overheat and eventually fail. If you are connecting it to the correct line voltage and setting the motor to match; check to be sure your voltage is not dropping under load. Check both line to ground to ensure both lines are sound. When replacing the motor, are the seals sound or have you replaced the pump seal at all? Is it leaking? Are the motors failing electrically or mechanically?
  9. DE filters are great. They filter down to something like 3 microns. You need not buy cartridges for them. If you keep your pool clean they're pretty low maintenance, requiring backflushing and reloading of the DE or Fiberclear powder every month or so. But at least once a year, and probably more often unless you keep your pool absolutely immaculate, you need your entire filter assembly, including the grids, cleaned. I've had to have mine cleaned twice in about 6 months.
  10. Hi Heegs24, I think you need a professional pool maintenance regarding with your problem but if you have time You may also decide on an acid wash not because of swamp conditions, but just to bring out a brighter, whiter finish. Mineral stains and/or deposits, chlorine stains, even dirt stains...an acid wash is always a dramatic aesthetic improvement.
