Freya
Only opened my pool a couple of weeks ago and have noticed the pool return jets (also skimmer suction) are running at much lower pressure than normal. I've an inground pool, sand filter, chlorinator and solar heating (also gas furnace but rarely use this). Putting the valve to recirculate doesn't change the pressure so it doesn't seem to be a filter problem, also bypassing the solar heating has no effect. Putting the valve to backwash and the skimmer suction increases back to normal so I guess the problem is with the jets and not the pump. There is no loss of water when running on filter so there doesn't seem to be a leak. I've no idea what can go wrong with the return jets - some kind of blockage? Any suggestions much appreciated.
