Advice For Replacing Waterfall

Hi everyone. I had a rock waterfall that was leaking. I got rid of it with a jackhammer and I am planning to replace it with a sheer descent waterfall.

In this picture you can see where I poured a slab and for now I have just placed the blocks and tiles in place to get an idea of how the new waterfall will look. I am planning a sheer descent waterfall on the wall that pours into a basin which will then flow into the pool.

I've got a few questions that maybe someone could help me with:

1. I couldn't find a match for the waterline tile so I think I will need to replace the tile in the entire pool. I was thinking a porcelain or glass tile. Can any tile be used, or are there any specifications I need to look for?

2. Along the edge of the pool you can see where I took away rock from the old waterfall and the Pebble Tec edge under the waterline is not straight. I was planning to take a grinder and cut a straight edge in the Pebble Tec and then use Pool Patch (poolpatch.com) to fill in between the existing Pebble Tec edge and the new tile. Does this seem like a good approach?

3. When I lay the new tile and the new Pool Patch, is there any preparation that needs to be done to the concrete (i.e. any waterproofing?)

4. For the new waterfall basin, what is the best waterproofing? I was planning to use some kind of brush-on waterproofing, and then just tile down over it so only the bottom floor of the basin would show the exposed waterproofing, then put smooth rocks inside to cover that up. Is that typically what is done for something like this?

I am thankful for any advice I could get as I start to tackle this project!
