  1. Replacing your 1 hp with a 1.5hp is fine, if anything it would work better for you. Im not sure if the port rotates, but if not it should just be a minor plumbing change (some pvc and a couple elbows)
  2. I think that the Polaris is a great cleaner as well as the Aquabots. Take a look at our website 1800pools.com, we have various cleaners that seem to fit what you're looking for. Here is a direct link to the cleaners: http://www.1800pools.com/Inground_Swimming_Pool_Cleaners.html
  3. Check out 1800pools.com, we have a selection of floating chlorine dispensers.
  4. hey, No do not use silicone it will not work. You will have to repair it yourself or have a company do it for you. You will have to cut the joint out and replace it with a coupling on either side. If that doesnt work or is too difficult to put back together without damaging anything else, use a mission coupling which is the rubber couplings with hose clamps on either side. steve
  5. Do you have well water?
  6. Well you obviously have a leak somewhere, maybe the main drain or the returns. You need to get someone out there to pressure test your lines to find out exactly where it is coming from. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
  7. Have you tried getting in contact witht the manufacturer? You might be able to get the parts from them.
  8. Im not familar with the Annapolis area so I dont know anybody to recommend, but I would ask around and if you find a company see if you can find out any background information on them such as any complaints they have. I would defenitly go with the Intelliflo rather than the Whisperflo. It allows programming for 4 different speeds for different pool, spa or water features applications, and could also lower your utility bills 30% to 90%. Theres a lot more information about it on our website 1800pools.com. Heres a link to the Intelliflo. http://www.1800pools.com/011013_IntelliFlo_Pool_Pump_VS_3050_Variable_Speed_.html
  9. Hey, Check to see if you have a standing pilot, if theres spider webs or anything causing it to clog up. If thats not the case it sounds like you need a new thermal coupler. I would recomend getting someone who is certified out there to fix it; cleaning it out is one thing, but when your dealing with a gas it could be dangerous.
  10. Hey, how big is your pool and about how far away is your system from the pool? The closer your system is to your pool the less pressure there is pushing through your pump, therefore a less hp pump is relevant.
  11. We have various poolside basketbal goals on our website, some of which mount into the concrete. Its 1800pools.com here is a direct link to the goals. http://www.1800pools.com/Swimming_Pool_Games.html
  12. This sounds like a good plan. Just make sure you get all the rust out of the pits and cracks also because within a year the rust could return. In some areas you may have to use some minor sand blasting.
  13. I believe cartridge filters are a lot better. Take a look at our website 1800pools.com. We have many different filters to look at with really good information about them.
  14. You would have to look for natural enzymes which will get rid of the slime and algae, but also will not harm anything in case there is something living in it. For what you have your going to need a lot. We have natural chemicals on our website, give it a look. 1800pools.com.
  15. Manual or Automatic? Check out 1800pools.com, we have reels for both inground or aboveground pools.
