Greetings,
I have had my Aquarite Chlorine generator for about 8 years. I have replace the cell 2 times. Other than that, I have enjoyed the unit and would not go with putting chlorine in my pool for nothing.
Last week I went out and looked at the pool and noticed a lttle mustered algea. I looked at the aquarite and the power light was not on. I turned the system off and then turned it back on. The no flow light blinked for about 1 minute (normal) then the generating light came on for about 10 seconds then everything went off.
After much time spent on research and troubleshooting, I found the quarter size black disc (current limiting diode) was cracked and open. I ordered a new one and replaced it.
BINGO, bak up and running for $2.50.
My question is, the diode gets extremely hot (too hot to touch) . Does anybody know if this should get that hot?
Thanks!!!
