  1. Thanks for the reply, I’ll likely just leave it then at this point.
  2. Hello all, i had to repair a leak in a J-315 I recently purchased and the foam is completely waterlogged on the bottom. The leak was on a flex pipe on the suction hose and it completely saturated the soft foam underneath the tub. I Removed the bottom pan and dug out the foam where I suspected the leak and fixed it but now am not sure what do to with this, will it eventually dry out or do i need to remove all the saturated foam? What do you use to re-insulate the bottom of the tub? Thanks for any replys
  3. Thanks for the reply. Flow switch is good, and i do have 12v coming out of the secondary side of the transformer. Looks like the only other thing would be the board. Another question is where’s the best place to buy a replacement cover? I bought this for next to nothing to fix and re-sell so not looking for anything top of the line but want something decent for the new owner.
  4. Hello everyone! I just picked up a 2012 J-315 from someone fir next to nothing and am in process of getting it up and running. The previous owner took pretty good care of it but replaced it about two weeks ago to upgrade after it stopped working on them. He had the desler he originally purchased it from come look at it and they told him it needed a new circuit board so he decided to upgrade it as they’ve been wanting to buy a new one as it was no longer big enough anymore. My questions are before I replace the circuit board what test’s can i do to make sure that’s the problem before i buy one, cant find them under $400 and wanna be sure. I’ve checked resistance on heater, hi-limit, and temp sensor. Checked all fuses and tested both pumps independently and everything is fine. When powered up the only thing that works is the lights, circulation pump never starts nor is there voltage at the terminals, heater never comes on nor is there voltage at the terminals, heat on indicator on topside is on however, main two speed pump never comes on nor is there voltage at its terminals either. However when jets button is pushed the heat on indicator goes off, then comes back on after pushing button twice more. This indicates to me the topside is fine. Everything i have tested indicates to me the circuit board is in fact bad just looking for anyones opinions or other tests to do. Thanks in advance
  5. Thanks for the reply's. I thought i would get a ton of advice after reading on this forum but since i didn't i went with baqua spa and i will just see how it goes.
  6. Hello everyone, I finally got my used 2001 jacuzzi platinum up and running after an array of leaks and a new J-pump. I have filled it and repaired all leaks. I am now ready to start using tub and i would like some advice on chemicals. I only have one dealer near me (25m) and they sell Baqua Spa. After reading some post here i'm not sure if that is the route i should go, although that is what the prevoius owners used. What would be some of your opinions on what do go with. I have already done a decon procedure on the tub but still notice in some of the lines a white crusty build-up. Should a refill and use spa-flush or jet clean or something along those lines or is there no way to completely clean that stuff out? I cant fill the spa with my well so i have to truck water to it so i would like to keep the cleaning refills to a minimum. Thanks for any replies in advance.
  7. I just found this forum and am very impressed so far, i just rcvd a free jacuzzi from a freind, not sure of model just that it is a jacuzzi brand and it is a 1997. The person i rcvd it from has not used it in a couple years and told me that the spa pack is bad (brett aqualine em-190). I called my local jacuzzi dealer and ended up buying a used 2001 jacuzzi platinum lazer for $600. I am a little skeptical because they told me they took it in on trade and had to replace a couple jets and a manifold, they said everything else works. But they moved it out from the showroom and i never got to see it work. They tell me they will work something out with me if i have any problems, but since it is used they wont give me a warranty. I am not to worried considering i planned on putting alot more into the free tub anyway. Does anyone know much about the older jacuzzi platinum series. I see that it doesnt have all the foam on it like my free tub, is this as good, i can see it would be alot easier to fix but what about energy usage?. If anyone out there has info on the platinum series please chime in, thanks.
