  1. Thanks heaps ScubaDave, very helpful! We have gone for the two pump system and now cant wait for it all to be installed for a nice long soak! appreciate your help.

  3. Hi guys We are looking at some spas from a local retailer here in NZ (AlpineSpas.co.nz). We are looking at this brand as they are good value and as hubby has spent quite a bit of time in a friends spa from them and is happy with the jets etc. One is $1000 cheaper, rated at 15/25 amps and has: 1 x 3HP water pump (SpaNet Australia), 1 x dedicated circulation pump and 1 x air blower pump. 1000 litres The other is rated 25 amps and has TWO of the water pumps but otherwise has the same heater (3kw Balboa), similar number of jets etc. It is 1230 litres. We prefer this model for the configuration of seats etc. We are getting electrical work done as part of a new pool/spa area so getting it wired up isnt a problem My question: Is the larger 25 amp spa pool likely to be an electricity guzzler when not in use? Or will the larger amp requirement just to be to service the water pumps that will only be used when we are actually in the spa pool? Is there a performance or maintenance benefit to having the two pumps? Or is the reality that choosing the smaller spa that still suits our needs well going to save us significant $$ in running costs and so is worth the compromise? Thanks heaps in advance for your help Amy
